Bought these off a 2015 Cadillac SUV, owner went with 24" setup so I sold my 20's and went with this setup, had to buy center bowtie caps but other than that fit right on. Had some issues swapping my TPS sensors (wouldn't reprogram at 1st) but I like the look.

Those are the All Terrains and you just swapped caps right? Where did you get the caps?

My wheels are actually Machined Denali Wheels. Gm# 5699. I found them on craigslist when I blew a tire and scratched a wheel. My truck came with 18's but the dealer let me use my 5 spoke 20s off of my '14. I just used the caps from them. That reminds me. Ive got 3 really nice OEM 20" 5 spoke wheels if anyone wants to make an offer... ha

Think we need more pics. What grill and flares?

Let me see if I can get some more loaded up... I've had the truck for about 4 weeks now, here's what she looked like when I bought her a month ago.

Here's a little different angle to show the grill. I picked it up off eBay, I'll see if I can pull up the manufacturer again. It was a PIA to install, but I love how it turned out. I moved the Z71 emblem to the new grill which took some time, and it's a drill and bolt on install so there's no going back unless I buy a replacement.

The flares are Lund Elite Series that I actually picked up in the "For Sale" forum already painted. The passenger front didn't fit right at all when I got them, there was a 1/2" gap between the top of the flare and the fender when it was installed. Naturally I started with the drivers front and worked my way around the truck so it was the last one to install, so I had to figure out how to make it work. A couple clamps, some 2x4's and a heat gun and now it fits better than the others. Lol

The lift is a combination of the stock parts off of a Lingenfelter Reaper (all the fox stuff), a Superlift 3.5" kit with new A arms, and an add-a-leaf for the rear. It's right at 4" of lift up front and the add-a-leaf has it sitting with about 1/2" rake in the rear.

The grille is a Paramount Evolution mesh insert, part number 46-0765 which is for Z71 models only. Here's a link to it on Summit:

http://www.summitracing.com/ga/parts/pmt-46-0765

I picked mine up off the big auction site for $160 shipped. Unfortunately it didn't come with instructions and they're closed on Saturdays, so I spent a little time researching how to install it. The factory grille has to be removed to install, not too difficult, the two outer bolts on the bottom are a pain though. Like I mentioned earlier, the grille install was a bit of a pain. It took almost 4hrs.

I didn't install the smaller strips between the upper and lower inserts, thought it would be too much (I think I'm going to make a license plate frame out of them). The grille is made very well. It's heavy, all stainless and powder coated black. I did have to trim the outer mount tabs on all 4 ends to allow it to be pulled in enough to sit flush, even those were stainless.

This is right after I finished installing it. Not the best shot because of all the evening shadows...

Looks killer, what all goes into flare install? Have to drill right? Curious what suspension set you back, fit in garage still?

Appreciate it!

As for the flares, there's no drilling. They're pocket style flares, the outer bolts just give the look like they're drilled and bolted to the fender. They're held on with clips and bolt on brackets, very easy install and they're very solid.

As far as the suspension, it's a little crazy. I actually picked all the Reaper stuff up used off eBay. It had 12k miles on it when the guy took it to a shop to have it swapped out for a 6" lift. Why he didn't tell them to keep the fox stuff, I don't know, because they definetly could have used them with the right spacers and his new kit. I picked the whole Reaper package up for $800 shipped. I had to buy the Superlift kit because the Reaper stuff was for a steel A arm truck and mine is aluminum, plus I wanted to add the differential drop to help the angles and the Reaper Doesnt use them. It cost me $550 from Summit. The add-a-leaf was something I wanted to go with instead of a lift block in the rear because I pull our 21' boat with it and wanted the extra support. It was $80 from Summit. So I've got about $1450 in it, I installed it all myself and then took it and had it aligned (another $80).

Not sure if it'll fit in the garage or not... it's occupied by my C6 Vette.

I had my last one done with large tires and a level and in turn made towing a trailer more difficult, which is the only reason why not on this one.

Yeah they really match it well on his. Trying to remember if I've seen yours, probably have. Trying to decide how these would look on blue granite LTZ because I love that wheel. So much chrome I feel I need a wheel with some chrome/polish/etc to tie in.

They are black but do have almost a bronze/off black kind of finish in the light so might not flow with the blue granite. Maybe see some in person and you'll know

Thanks, took a while to pick them out haha. In the sun they shine a bright bronze but in the dark they appear black.

    • I certainly could be wrong but I hear of pickups far newer than that 2007 cutoff which may not be going to the wrecker but are having engine work done and be that a reman engine or new engine or trying to repair the existing engine. Some of it would be design issues as per the cylinder deactivation system that GM has and one of those lifters wiping out the cam and the question of oil changes moving the needle or not on that whole mess, or in the case of Ford pickup engines that have the long timing chains and wearing them out and the roller followers and phasers and some of that certainly goes back to oil change intervals. But in those various cases the truck has all sorts of life left in it and so the unfortunate owner and may be original owner or used market owner that is pouring money into repairs so the truck is not seeing the salvage yard yet but damage is happening by infrequent oil changes. A friends son had bought a 2018 I think it is half ton GM and it had some sort of extended or used dealer warranty on it and of course the lifter issue bites and its rattling and so the dealer had to swallow the bill and was at least 7000.00 and I think they only replaced what they felt they had to replace so yeah, I can see that being a ticking time bomb in the not too distant future. Would frequent oil changes cure all these engineering "marvels", probably not but some engine designs have shown that they do much better if the oil is changed a lot more often then if the manufacturer service claims are followed. New trucks cost so much that there is an incentive to keep the existing truck on the road by repairing.
    • get a good code reader, and find out what problems the truck has noticed by reading codes. cheap ones can only get basic engine codes, you may want to get one that can get codes from all the computers in your truck.
    • This is sort of my point, salvage yards aren't overflowing with all these 'poorly' maintained trucks - excellent/good/servicable condition otherwise, salvaged only as a result of a bad engine from poor oil change regiment.    In my area, there are no 2007 to newer gm trucks/suvs in any salvage yards. A few are in the 'recyclers' with very obvious reasons for being there - wrecked.
    • Stabilitrack was a stability control, traction control system, that functioned independently from the transfer case.   Z-71 has nothing to do with the transfer case or differential.   If it does have an AWD system, my memory recalls this being specific to the Denali trim, converting won't be as simple as swapping out mechanical parts like differentials and transfer cases. It will require reprogramming at a minimum. Long story short, not likely worth it.   Pulling a fuse, may disable the AWD system, it might also prevent any other transfer case functions.   However, the AWD case was generally based on the same transfer case you refer to in the 2006 Suburban. If it still has a 4-High and 4-Low where the transfer case locks and splits power 50-50 front to rear, what are you gaining by changing anything? A true-rear wheel drive only, what good will that serve? Not enough to go through the trouble of changing out all the parts.    Generally, all the factory systems will handle a 33" tire and re-gearing. Probably a 35" tire too, if you aren't driving like a caveman. If 35" tires are in the plan...   If you do plan on driving like a caveman or are fully committed to 35" tires, an entire re-think of the build is probably in order. Starting with square one, an IFS front end isn't going to be the best starting point for 35's and caveman driving.
    • 1/2 qt over full ain`t gonna hurt $h!t. Most times, a whole qt won`t either. Most have windage trays now. As long as the crank isn`t slapping itself in the oil, it`s not the end of the world.   We used to overfill 1 qt at the track, at race time. Better to have it over full than having the pan sucked dry at 6500 rpm`s.
