2015 towing mirrors

Hello,

I have a 2015 Gmc 2500 Denali HD Duramax in March 2014 which I custom ordered with the DPN mirrors. I purchased the chrome mirror kit shown in the list below which has the manual extend and manual fold. What all harness part numbers will I need? Will I need the BCM flash?

23387133 - HARNESS PKG - General Motors

23372181 2014-2016 SIlverado \ GMC Tow Mirrors Kit

23171567 HARNESS ?

23171564 HARNESS ?

Thank you in advanced!

Jim

Seeing the effort many are making at retrofitting these tow mirrors, all I can add is they are absolutely worth the effort being made here.

IME, I wouldn't own a truck without them as the OEM small stockers were woefully inadequate for DD even without a tow load. No way would I tow anything without proper tow mirrors, or worse case, clip-ons. Can you drive this truck as DD or with a hook up and get by? Sure. But IMO it would be like bringing a knife to a gunfight. Those who complain about dumbo ears are putting form over function. It aint a Ferrari.

For those who park in tighter spaces, the power fold-ins will get used regularly. Guys who have more room to run around and park with clearance can do without this feature.

YMMV. Good luck.

I just installed the new chrome tow mirrors yesterday myself. I am going from basic DL8 mirrors on my LT Silverado, According to the service bulletin I needed the mirrors, 2 door harnesses, and BCM reprograming.

I bought all of the parts from various online retailers, all said and done with shipping I have about $700 in parts.

The hardest part of the install was removing and reinstalling the door panel. Removing the clips with the weather stripping to reinstall the panel can be very temperamental.

replacing the wire harness was very simple. It was time consuming because you have feed everything through tight spots, especially where you connect the harness to the cab. But as long as you pay attention to how the old harness is ran it is easy to figure out where the new one is supposed to be.

Mounting the mirror was very simple. The kit came with the 2 extra nuts for the 4th stud, so you reuse the 3 nuts from the old mirrors in addition to the ones included in the mirror package. Drilling the hole was very straight forward, from the inside there is already a hole in the inner sheet metal. A metal step bit drilled through the outside panel like butter.

To my surprise all of the mirrors new features work great without any dealer BCM reprogramming. The white cargo lights even work in reverse which I have read on here some people are having trouble with even after reprogramming.

All said and done the new mirrors add great field of vision and look great, I would think anyone with simple mechanical skills should be able to install themselves and save a significant amount of $$$.

I just had the dealer install mine and all the lights work as well. What didn't work without the programming was the defrost function of the new mirror even though it worked on my old mirrors. GM had to send my dealer some upgraded programming to make that work.

Finally pulled the trigger on some towing mirrors after a few months of shopping and discussion, not to mention the headaches of towing with stock mirrors. Ordered some pro tuning lab ones. Hopefully they are not bad since they were cheap. If all else fails I can return them and buy the k source or gm ones

No, those are NOT the power folding mirrors. Those are the GM accessory kit. You have to actually order OEM replacement folding mirrors to get power folding.

Also, what a horrible price. They are trying to take you to the cleaner. You should be able to get those mirrors for under $600 shipped, and the harnesses for under $200 shipped. So a max of $800 for parts. Which means they are trying to take you for another $750+.

Thank you for the clarification. I agree the quote is crazy.....welcome to Canada and our weak $$. Do you have any information on the correct OEM folding mirrors ??

For everyone,

Mirror 23241465

Mirror 23241469

Harness 23171564

Harness 23171567

These are the OEM power folding mirrors. They require the harness for all the options, heat, fold, tilt, signals....etc.

Oh, I didn't notice the Canadia part. Yeah you guys are hurting right now.

I just was researching a business laptop for my friend up there. The same one that is $369 USD on Amazon.com right now is $699 CAD on Amazon.ca. I was like ouch...

Can anyone tell me if the non-powerfolding mirrors p/n 23372181 and/or 23372182 come with the k40 ambient temperature sensor that is required for diesels with an exhaust brake?

I have a 2015 ltz 2500 built 7/14. I just ordered both powerfold mirrors and door harness. I have factory powerfold non tow mirrors. I read on here since my truck is pre 8/14 that i need a jumper kit from gm to get the mirrors to work?. Is this correct? Im having my local dealer put these in and i want to let them know if they need the jumper kit before i get them installed monday. Thanks in advance!

Is this for pre 2015.5 models too? Or do you need the jumper kit as well ?

I just had the tow mirrors installed on my 2016 LTZ Z71 1500. the Part numbers above are correct. I had my dealer in stall and i'm pretty sure they had no programming to do and everything works. Make sure to get the harnesses as well!

I had the DL3 Power folding mirrors before.

I purchased the chrome kit on eBay, including the harness. Did the install myself, 2 hrs, pretty straight forward. I had dl8 before. My shop color matched the caps. All the lights work.
