I just purchased a 2016 Silverado 2500HD LT Midnight Edition. Currently have the non power-fold trailer mirrors and currently need to know if I need any other part to have my dealership install since they are covering the cost of labor and parts. They seem lost and want to give up but I keep pressuring them that it can be done. From what I can tell I need the mirrors (232441465 and 23241467) and a new switch(23488411). Is there anything else i need ??

For parts that might be all that's needed. BCM Flash possibly. The install is not to bad if you have the time. Have you checked the charts in the Tow mirror thread?

ok as you can see I have the tiny useless mirrors. I would like the towing mirrors. plain black. non folding is good. power adj and heated is what I have and all I would need.

so can someone simplify all this massive information for me since most of all this is very confusing and tell me what I need.

its a 2015 sle crew. I just want to do the install my self. I really am not worried about the fancy turn signal things or the folding deal. just need bigger

thanks

I had the same mirrors and replaced mine with after market basic power adjust and heated tow mirrors. I believe they were K-Source brand and I got them from discountautomirrors.com for about $200. The existing wires hooked right up to them. I previously posted here about it: http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/157013-what-have-you-done-to-your-k2-today/?view=findpost&p=1707363

The mirrors have been working out great. I'm am very happy I got them.

I just did this, the harnesses and mirrors is all you need. The info out there has one of the old harness part numbers on it, it has been superseded by a new number. I'll get you that number when I get home- pm me. I'll also let you know where i ordered them super cheap.

It is truly easy if you have any mechanical ability.

Send me the info also please. I got some aftermarket ones and the passenger doesn't stick out correctly defeating the purpose of it so I'm going to need new ones. Manufacturers say that's how it's made......lame

If all you want is power glass and heat, you DO NOT need a harness. I installed "old style" black myself and glass/heat worked with original harness.

Hey all,

New here, just upgraded from my ’14 Silverado to a new ’16 Silverado LTZ Z71. Upon placing the custom options, I had ordered tow mirrors. Upon their arrival and after install, they turned out to be non-powered. I immediately researched the correct part number and got it from here (thanks). I gave it to the dealer (AutoNation Chevrolet) and they placed the order. (Mirror 23241465, Mirror 23241469, Harness 23171564, Harness 23171567). The order came through to them and I went back to the dealership to have them switched out.

After driving around and trying to learn the mirrors, I am noticing mine will only fold in when you press the button on the armrest. Also, the functionality from the key remote does not fold the mirror in either.

I took a picture of my Chevy MyLink to show you the option for mirrors isn’t listed. Shouldn’t this be in there under the settings/comfort and convenience?

Is this a fluke? Did the dealership not set this up correctly and forgot to flash or update the system?

Since it appears the dealer isn’t on their game, I’d like to go back tomorrow or asap prepared knowing what is needed to fix this.

Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hey. Ya unfortunetly the powered trailer mirrors are only available on the Max Trailering package...which is only available on the 1LZ (non Z71) Found that out when I ordered mine in January.

When I got mine I had the trailer mirrors put on, based on the part numbers in this thread. I just checked my convieneice settings and the setting is indeed there for the Reverse Tilt Mirror and Auto Mirror Settings.

I am guessing they didn't do the BCM Updates... Does your memory function work for your driver 1/2 recall?

Hey Shane,

I was hoping you were going to reply to my post. I saw your post about ordering the truck and said that's totally me as well. Mine's the 2LZ package. I am hoping that this "BCM Update" is the fix. When I first picked up the truck, the options you show were not listed at all. The Memory buttons work for the seats and mirrors. Just don't have those options on the MyLink and no folding option on the key remote. It's an LTZ that should be there!

Phoning the dealership today to see what they say. Hoping no further hardware is required.

PITA.

I wouldn't think any additional hardware is required... unless they didn't actually change the harness out in the doors. Do your backup Lights and the orange clearance light work properly?
