That vent is a lot more open that I realized. I've seen the but didn't notice it. Bet it's easy to get the bay dirty.

There's gotta be a special place in hades for the guy that came up with skip shift.

I gotta say the gutted cats and the old "experienced" Muffler on this thing somehow work together to sound pretty good.

The vent is awesome the heat pours out. Works perfect. It does get a bit more dusty but it's not a DD nothing a microfiber wipe down won't fix

Got my control arm on Wednesday.

The box looked too small, so I got it out...

The moron cut off the strut rod, which attaches the control arm to the subframe in the front. Kinda critical for proper handling.

Gave him 2 days to reply to my inquiry, but no luck. Got eBay on the horn, so we'll see. If he doesn't send me a new, WHOLE arm, he is in for a hellacious review :M16:

Some people. :happysad::rant:

True, but you'd think he woulda messaged me and said "hey we won't be able to get you that arm..."

Got a refund, just have to send it back. He can have the damn thing.

Since He gave me my money back, should I go easy on the feedback, or light into him for creating the mess in the first place?

Gotta love eBay. I did 5 returns this week alone. :nonod:

Latest is a set of e-code headlight assemblies for the Volvo 940. Thing arrives with no directions (would've been helpful, especially since the ad said it comes with the best, easy-to-understand directions on the planet - I had to disassemble and chase wires to figure it out), a right-side marker light in with the left-hand assembly (so I have 2 rights and NO left), and the entire inside lens assembly was broken off inside & just floating around in there, WTF. Adjusters weren't even attached. There were glue fingerprints all over the glass that I was peeling off with my fingernail. Thing looks like it was assembled by a 4 year old with glue everywhere. Taiwanese garbage, and I paid just under $400 for the pair. Guess your paying for the rarity - certainly isn't the quality! :banghead:

The one decent one is installed now, and works great. Wish I knew which was supposed to be the "fog" and which is the "driving". Intuitively I would think that the clear lens is the driving light, and the refracted lens is fog. That's how I wired it up.

The one that's installed works great, and doesn't look too bad I guess. Hopefully I get some time out of them. The H4 halogen seems 10x better than the 9004 that were in the stock housing. Much better light output. At least glass won't become all spotty if I get a little acetone on it.

A spark plug was wobbly and I pulled it out. Looked fine, out it in but wouldn't tighten. I then pulled it out BY HAND and there were bits of the thread from the plug hole in the plug threads, like they broke apart.

Good news, the previous owner said it has never had a heli coil, etc. So I have options, don't have to buy the $350 BigSert.

I might try a HeliCoil, I was reading about their use in Aircraft, impressive. Sounds like a lot of the failures people complain about are from installation errors. You can find debate threads where people make the same agruements, but one guy had a few TimeSerts fail, the next guy had a few HeliCoils fail, and on and on.

Edit: disregard the old statement below.

A spark plug went wobbly and it seems a helicoil melted or disintegrated. Great. Didn't even know there was one there. What now? If I tap it to use a TimeCert how do I get the shavings out without opening the engine?

Going to start later. Maybe. It's stupid hot today. Got the kit, hi temp thread locker, and several ounces of dielectric grease. Permatex has "bulb grease" tubes that are much bigger than the tiny packets at autoparts store counters. Probably take the other plugs out and make sure they have a nice coat over the next few days.

Might let the thread lockers cure for two days just to be safe.
