Tomorrow is 5 months from the day I took delivery. My dealer has been great to work with. I have been compensated over these 5 months accordingly but ultimately just want a Yukon Denali that drives right. Thought we had one ready to be brought to my dealer via flatbed but my Service Mgr happened to be at that location last night and drove it. Said it vibrated pretty bad so that one is out.

Not sure folks know but when GM does a straight buyback and gets you into another vehicle they do so at DEALER COST. My lease essentially disappears and I get all monies put down, refunded. The problem is there is a dealer about 80 miles away from me that has 2 identical Yukon's I would take but he isn't willing to sell them at dealer cost. He is willing to sell them to me at supplier pricing (about $1000 difference). He also isn't willing to trade with my dealer as he says he will sell 5 white ones to 1 black one (I came into this wanting white). The dealers hands are so tied when it comes to solving these issues (especially since there isn't a fix) and GM's hands are so tied when it comes to getting a vehicle into my hands to make this potentially go away. They have pushed for me to just order one but my concern is waiting another 2 months only for it to arrive vibrating and buffeting.

What. A. Ride.

If your really want 1 of those 2, go test drive them first. If one is all clear, ask to talk to the GM, elicit some sympathy with all your issues and frustration, and tell him how it would really be a huge solid. Most can easily say no from afar but will have a harder time in person.

I contacted the dealer with around 200 miles on my car to let them know something was wrong. By the time they finished all of the "fixes", jumped through all the hoops, and convinced GM that it could not be repaired the vehicle had close to 1500 miles on it. The swap to the 2016 model was straight up, no money out of my pocket whatsoever. Even if they did try for a mileage penalty it would have only been charged to the initial 200 miles, which would have hardly been worth the aggravation.

Zig,

Does your 2016 buffet?

Funny you say that....I'm on my way to that dealer, 100 miles away, to do just that. They actually have 3 that would work. Thanks.

Zig,

Across broken pavement, yes. Some minor booming on potholes as well. However, under normal driving on average roads, no, it doesn't buffet.

If I had bought this one first I likely would've never even found this website.

Get at least 250 miles on it before taking delivery. My second one was perfect until 200-250 miles or so. I thought it was great at first and then it came back worse than the first one. Get some miles on it. Focus on 35-45 mph.

I've got 1100 miles on it now. So far so-so...

I found one today that slightly buffets but doesn't vibrate. It has ~200 miles on it and I have it for the weekend. The ONLY issue is that it doesn't have adaptive cruise or HUD. At this point, I am not sure that is going to sway me away from a truck that is pleasant to drive. There is another one on the lot that is newer but has roughly same mileage on it and is also manageable from a drivability standpoint. I put most of those miles on that one as it was given to me to use as one of the 12 loaners I have had throughout all of this. It has adaptive cruise and HUD. Have some decisions to make over the weekend but glad this could potentially be over soon.

if you really want the adaptive cruise, you could opt for an Escalade since you'll have a better shot of finding Premiums in inventory vs a Denali where the dealer added cruise.

Quick question. Do any of you think this issue could somehow involve the bose system in these vehicles? I have a 2016 Lt with 400 miles on it, and can be sitting in my driveway, and certain radio stations cause a booming sound and pressure in my ears. At first I thought man the bass must be turn up to high, but even with it turned down, certain radio stations are definitely causing uncomfortable pressure in my ears and booming sounds like I have a subwoofer right behind me. This is when Im parked in the driveway. :(

Do you have really bad booming and pressure while driving on washboard roads

If so, I think you just unfortunately have a very easily tickled setup where even the music is setting it off

Its not booming constantly, but every now and then, on certain bumps, it booms and really irritates my ears badly. No vibrations to report while driving, just that annoying boom. My buddy slammed the passenger door closed earlier today and though I blew my ear drums out. Only have a little over 400 miles on it. I am not happy at all. Im going to take it in to the dealer on Monday, but after reading through all these posts im prepared for the bs response I will probably get from them ;( Pisses me off badly!!! I traded in my 2014 Older body style for the newer look . Wish I would have done more research before my Trade in/purchase. Its really a shame, such a nice looking vehicle. I cant believe Gm released these vehicles with known problems like this. Im actually going to one of the in and out Dr. office at Walgreens tomorrow because my ears are still bothering me after driving all day today.

Its a 2016 short base Lt with the sun and destination package with the 3.42 Rear axle ratio and integrated trailer brake controller.

Your question is familiar, see the below link. The link references "ear pressure" from certain radio stations, different from issues on this thread. After drilling down a bit, my conclusion was it's the XM signal on specific channels that causes the pressure. It wasn't a known issue to dealers when I advised the service tech, so I filed a NHTSA complaint over a year ago.

I think I realize what Im driving. Something Gm didnt get the bugs out before it was released. I have previously owed a Ford f-150, 2006 Tahoe, 2008 Tahoe, and a 2014 Tahoe that never had these issues. My 2008 Tahoe would get a little drone when the Afm kicked in but nothing like what im experiencing in the 2016.
