Got my hypertech installed last night. No complaints.

I did +200 rpm rev limit and +200 rpm on all shift points. 25% shift firmness. Seems good to me.

I did 500 and 400 and 75% and no v4 and max tune on E85.

I figured I'd start slow and drive it for awhile and maybe bump it up a little more later. If feels more responsive to me, but maybe it has a placebo effect too.

You will notice the most when you go to pass, no hesitation no hunting just going. And it moves the throttle feel up.

Had a Black Bear tune on my 02 Silverado for a while now with the Auto Cal. Love it! Really woke up the 5.3 and if I stay out of the throttle economy is good at 18mpg.

If you mean a code reader they do and you can check it yourself.

No, in my situation there was no CEL on. I'm not sure how many years I have been driving around with the hose disconnected.

don't have anything to compare it too, but i went with blackbear based on these forums. truck is night and day better and the costumer service is great.

No based on engine parameters not codes.

One of these days Ill have to give custom a try, cant imagine it being better than it is now, compared to stock.

I'm telling you from experience. Custom tune is a lot better. Driveability is so much better. I had hyper tech, banks, and SCT. I'm glad I learn more and more about changing parameters all the time. So many tweaks to do.

My favorite part about my blackbear tune is that my tow/haul is my performance button

tell me more about the tow/haul performance option.

Tow/haul is a different table for the transmission. So you can have it customized to whatever you like for shifting. Like i had my shift pressure increased for normal driving, then when i hit tow/haul it takes out 75% TM and firms up the shifting more. It shifts at 6K either way
