Not bad for 75g

That's what I'm getting stock. Do you have any recommendations for brake upgrades?

You're getting that stock now. Once you lift it kiss that goodbye.

No need to upgrade the brakes. This truck is meant for hauling heavy loads. Additional rotational mass is not going to hurt these brakes. It actually stops quite nice.

I looked at all wheels before I decided to go with AF. I stumbled across them and thought they looked the best. It's more of a build quality, I don't care about the deep lip, I would like a less aggressive setup, but it appears these wheel work best with the lip. You see a lot of trucks with these on the internet, but locally, you won't see many. Over $3K for wheels and over $3K for tires, not many people are willing to shell out that kind of money. I'll spend the money because I know locally, I'll be one of few in my area with these wheels. Most of the folks with a 10" lift are spending over $6K for the lifts before install alone just to be able to add these wheels to their trucks.

Try living in Houston. Locally, this is pretty much the only wheel that 3/4 ton trucks are running. Usually 22x12 with spacers so big that you can see all of the disc brake when the wheel is turned.

On the subject of American Force...is that all that is available for 3/4 trucks now? Every one I see is rolling on AFs. Surely, there must be other wheel manufacturers out there that are making wheels with a lip so deep that you can cuddle up and sleep in it?

That's what's hot right now. Used to be Fuel and BMF, before that XD series.

AF has 24x16's with -44 offset LOLOL

Could do a brake job with the wheels on just about haha

They don't actually sell 24x16. They had them at SEMA as a display. 24x14 is it for now. And they are -73 offset. [emoji106]

Lets see, 75K. That's my truck plus my Genese sedan, and my hot rod truck. Last year my son bought a Ford Tuscany for 85K, I about fainted but hes young.

These trucks were gorgeous and powerful. Just not worth the 25k in upgrades lol

I agree at the end of the day its still a chevy(mass produced) still a half ton and not worth that type of money. 3 years from now that guy will try and sell that truck and maybe get 40k if hes lucky.

The dealer does stuff like this and tries to make a profit off their "special editions" or whatever. I looked at a truck that was lifted and specd just like mine now except had leather and they wanted $10K more on the price. I said haha...no. So I bought the non-lifted one and did the exact 7" RCX lift, same XD Strike wheels, and same 35" nitto's and was in it for a total of $2700 so wooo!

This is hard for me to believe. I did a lot of research on these trucks and I came up with this. The cheapest 7" RCX lift I found was about $1K, XD Strike wheels around $1K, and tires at $1,200. All before install is $3200, and this is me extremely low, low balling the price. A decent 7" lift for these trucks with install will about $3500 installed alone. Where are you buying these parts, I need a hook up!

$75K for a pickup truck....NOT!

Better yet,, Buy it, drive it for a year or two then sell it and see what that $75k brings in return.

Agreed. I'll be searching forever hoping to find steals on some 22s. I guess I'm just not that guy.

I was lucky and found overstocks people were selling super cheap and bought all online so I didn't pay taxes on this stuff. So my cost are:

RCX lift $999.00

35" Nittos $1000

18" XD Strike $699

then I sold my stock wheels and tires for $700 which covered the install of everything which cost $650.

It took months of searching to find these deals but way worth it

    • Most say the oil temperature needs to above the boiling point of water to rid it of moisture and long enough to dry it. Many think that is about a hour at 212 F or more. Those people have never line dried cloths in a Midwest winter. Leave a pan of water sitting on the counter and eventually it all evaporates. So heat drives the time it takes. Water in oil under 175 F, the Nitration initiation temperature, is a minimum then for temperature and samples I've done that use Karl Fisher method say about a hour (in a healthy well tuned motor) over 175 F will dry it to under 800 ppm. Low enough to not be much of a factor. Motors with weak rings will take longer and the colder the air temperature the longer it takes.   On a cold motor there is also the condensation temperature. Blowby gases that contain moisture are subject to that cold cylinder wall, like sweat on a glass of ice tea. But also subject to the Law of Partial Pressures. Wear studies by GM and the DOD  indicate wear is a real issue below 85 F and a concern to 140 F but doesn't become a minimal factor until about 160 F. You know this intuitively when you see water vapor exit the exhaust pipe until the system gets above the dew point. It isn't magic, it's physics and it fascinates me. I know you didn't ask but....I over share sometimes. 😉    You keep the Camaro's high and tight.
    • Move further away.   Benefit of living out - none of our cars get short cycled, plenty of warm up time.   Curious how much time/temperature it takes to drive moisture/condensation out of the engine?
    • Switch a a 100% synthetic trans fluid, Amsoil works for me.
    • First of all sorry, I know there are a ton of transmission temperature threads...   My truck is a 2025 LZ0 High (10l89 10-speed) High Country with NHT max trailering package. The NHT package is supposed to have "enhanced cooling."   Normally the trans temp sits around 200. It seems like with any real stress it quickly jumps into the 220s (for example climbing a grade unloaded at lower speeds). I haven't towed much with this truck, but I'm concerned if it gets this hot unloaded.    I've tried a few different things to keep the temps down (tow/haul mode, sport mode, low range when that makes sense) and nothing seems to affect it.    I'm curious if others are the same behavior or if anyone has found techniques to keep the temps down. It seems like it just can't handle reduced airflow at lower speeds, even with relatively light loading.    Thanks!
    • I'm at 105,000 miles on my baby Duramax. No issues yet. I hit 31 mpg's traveling through hilly terrain to a project in Colorado. I will buy another 3.0. I'm not concerned.
