That right, your favorite luxury brand will now have EVEN MORE useless "names" that you have NO attachment to!

Wonder if the rest of GM will try to become normal blend into the crowd? That's what everyone wants in their luxury brand, a car that is just like the rest. Good they also want/are to jacking the prices way up to be "competitive"!

Well at least we know where they stand. When a luxury brand gets desperate they start copying everyone else. Way to show your cards GM!

The last car the wife bought was 2011 Geneses Sedan for the price and performance and warranty. We have had 3 Hyundai. They have gone insane with the price of the 15 so we are looking around. Its looks like caddy has been bitten by the same bug. All of the sudden im seeing Mercedes ads on TV looking hot and reasonable in price same with BMW, whats up with that? Its going to be a long test driving season.

yeah, its all the new head guy a cadillac. Not sure why they hired the guy from infiniti, he screwed with their naming scheme and now he's doin it to cadillac. I'm not a fan of this guy.

How much does this guy get paid? If moving a headquarters and screwing up car names are accomplishments, sign me up for a job. I'll blow your mind.

 

IMO they need to go back to real names. More memorable.

Still do not understand the move to NYC. Lincoln moved to CA & came back to MI a couple years later.

 

That aside, Mercedes is following suit with changing names too.

NYC is "hip" or some BS. I see it as meaningless, it's just marketing and other office tower drones. Engineering and likely styling is still done in Michigan and that is what is actually important.

Cadillac's new boss believes General Motors' premium brand could eventually sell ultra-luxury cars that retail for a quarter-million dollars by 2029.

"It is too early today for a $250,000 Cadillac," Johann de Nysschen said in an interview on Wednesday at the Los Angeles Auto Show. "Fifteen years from now, it won't be."

Cadillac's current flagship car, the XTS sedan, tops out at around $70,000 which is tens of thousands of dollars less than the range-topping models of such German competitors as BMW and Daimler AG's Mercedes-Benz.

Everyone actsvlike the guy is some genius because he is from Infiniti. 15 years ago, Infiniti was taking on the luxrybgiants so fast they didnt know what hit them. It was a BIG deal when the G35 started winning comparison tests. Before Nysschen left, it started going downhill. Nobody knew what a Q50 was, and there were reports from Infiniti showrooms The average customer didn't know what was going on since the Q cars used to be the big ones and the G37 was still being sold along side the Q50, mainly because the new Q50 wasnt winning critics and the G37 was still drawing people in. How often do you even see a Q50?

 

The big advantage he DOES seem to have is he finally convinced GM to start dumping big bucks in Caddy

No one is attached to names anyhow. I could care less what they call the model. Comparing his actions here to what he did at Infiniti is irrelevant- they make shitty cars, Caddy is going up.

 

 

And Patrick, how is Benz arrogant beyond mismanagement when they had their turn at Chrysler?

      The curb weight on a 1 ton crew cab long bed is around 7k lbs.  Now, I don't know where you went to school but 9k is not more than 2x 7k lbs. More than 2x 7k lbs would be 14k+.   With that said, obviously yes you're going to feel a 9k lb trailer when slowing down.  I already said, when accelerating.  When changing lanes?  No.  But if you look at the context of what was quoted, the original person said, "after a mile or two..." which means that would be after the accelerating portion and you're driving a generally steady pace.  Please do learn to read and comprehend.

      So I purchased the Range unit for my 2026 and I am seeing different locations suggested for the ECM . Can anyone confirm wither under hood, left side or right side or behind the wheelwell?

      Like I've said before. Di and Carbon buildup is not that big of a concern. Engine had minimal buildup, and that engine was obviously not super well maintained. Do regular oil changes, and you're gtg as long as the rest of the truck lasts. Also, the High Pressure FP that people ****** about, but can't tell you why.  Now, I wish they'd trash the variable oil pump. No real world issues with them, but I'll gladly eat whatever miniscule MPG it's saving me in favor of more oil at all RPMs.    Curious to see his assessment of the 7.3 compared to the 6.6. I expect he'll praise the port inj, but from a structural standpoint, the 6.6 is as robust as any engine out there.    Not to take away from the 7.3. I feel it's equally as good as the 6.6.     As to heat on the rear cyls, I'd have to see numerous examples before I'd say it's an issue. Especially not knowing the history of that engine. For all is known, they could have blown a rad hose, and ran it hot, and the 2 rear cyls may be the first to get hot in a low coolant situation, but not be an issue aside from that.

      "Life is getting back to normal."    I'm driving again and all new joints are operating as expected for this stage of recovery.   My most recent joint replacement still requires a lot of attention but experience has taught me that time will quiet the remaining pain.  I joked with my surgeon that another joint replacement would take my mind off my most recent surgery and he responded by saying the next will be a hip!  There are no plans for another surgery but, unlike me, I don't think he was joking!  I certainly wouldn't refuse further replacement  if required but hope to spend time out of the "post-op"  period.  I can't stress enough that if you have been recommended for total hip, knee or shoulder replacement that you welcome the offer.  Post-op "recovery" may sound daunting and painful, however, this is far better than the insidious erosion of mobility you are currently experiencing.  Imagine what it would feel like to wake up most mornings feeling better and more mobile than you did the previous day!  Prior to my first surgery in June 2025, even getting out of bed was becoming a formidable task.  Since the day after my first surgery, I get out of bed everyday easily and unassisted.  Making the switch to feeling a little better each day rather than a little worse, is hugely motivating!
