yep after I read the specs on the ranchos knew the RS999297 had to be for a lifted rear just letting others know because on there web site if you type in your vehicel the only number for the rear is RS 999297.

Do you know if they had to take the upper ball joint aloose for your install.

Thanks

not sure because I had a company install mine

Installed the Rancho Quicklift Loaded strut today on my Z today along with the Rancho RS9000XL Series Shocks on the rear. Quicklifts raised the front end exactly 2 inches. I'm pleased so far. Wheels and tires should be here tomorrow! Disregard the -12 offset in the screenshot. Things have changed.

Yep + 1... I installed the same thing last week. Still playing with the setting, but LOVE it so far. I'm about setting #4 on the front and #5 in the back!

When I put my Kings in, I had to have the UCA ball joint loose to get them in. Of course, I had Cognito UCA's anyway. But popping a UCA ball joint is nothing. I have done my '14 as well as more recently, I changed my '08 truck's UCA's out by installing the UCA's from my '14. Piece of cake, once you've done it.

You do NOT have to take off the upper ball joint to change these out, other than taking the wheel off you just have to take out the stabilizer bar bolt and then take the strut out.......they are super easy.

Even better if you undo both struts at the same time you don't even need to remove stabilizer bolt because the bar will flex by not being held up from the other side.

Since I was installing new coilovers, UCAs, and a new front swaybar all that the same time, the ball joints as well as the swaybar were all disconnected. But I see your point, jack the frame with both wheels off the ground and the suspension fully extended.

I'm waiting to see how many leveled trucks start to see the same UCA ball joint problems seen by the GMT900 owners that leveled. The UCA is exactly the same P/N from my 08 to the 14. I believe the whole front suspension is replicated from the GMT900. Time will tell.

Just got my Rancho quick lift struts today. Is it just me or is the packaging horrendous for these? It also appears I'm missing the hardware from one of them. Any thoughts on if I need the new hardware or can I get by re using the factory hardware?

Cant see why you wouldn't be able to use the stock hardware.

Can anyone comment on how well these handle cracks in the road etc? My current stock ranchos with or without my spacer lift ride stiff and make the whole truck crack creak and pop over little bumps and cracks in the road.

Mine came the same way and was missing one of the hardware bags. You should be able to reuse stock bolts. I already had a

RC level so I had to go get new hardware at HD

For those that have installed these, is there enough threads on the upper bolts to add a 1/4" spacer (for 1/2" more lift) if it was needed? I really like the idea of adjustable shocks and they are about the same price as Bilsteins considering you can easily install them yourself, but I think I may need the full 2.5" lift for my tire plans.

Thanks

i know nothing about the install. All I know is the company that installed let me keep all my old struts and shocks. They said it was simple already came pre loaded and ready to install. Best ride ever over a leveling kit

I just looked at mine.. I would say only 1/2 max of treads... not enough for a spacer. I wouldn't put in a spacer anyway...

1/2" of threads above the nuts or only 1/2" of threads above the strut mount? A picture would be awesome if you are able. I could always use a 1/4" spacer on the bottom of the strut, saw a few on ebay. And why wouldn't you add a spacer, if you needed to? I realize the higher you go the worse angles get, but most seem to be ok with 2.5" and I think I'm going to need it.
