I'm about 1000 miles into my Rancho Quick lift and love the ride and stance.

I just ordered the front and rears off Amazon. Has anyone added a 1/4" spacer like this one to get a 2.5" total level? http://www.ebay.com/itm/CHEVY-AVALANCHE-TAHOE-GMC-YUKON-FRONT-1-2-5-LIFT-LEVELING-KIT-2007-2014-CH0-5B-/121354502630?fits=Model%3ASilverado+1500&hash=item1c414ac1e6&vxp=mtr

I want to use 285/65/20 BFG KO2's on roughly stock offset wheels. I haven't decided on the exact wheel yet. I might need the extra 1/2" in the front and I want to add the rear block from the RC kit to keep some rake when I tow. This will go on a Sierra max tow (on order). If it rubs I a may go with a small body lift but from what others have posted I probably wont need it.

Thanks

if you get that spacer you will most likely be a bit nose high. Might need a 2" rear block as well.

Yep I expected that and would welcome the 2" block, since I like a little rake and the bigger tires wouldn't look so stuffed in the rear. I'm just not sure if the max tow might sit a tad higher in the rear stock? The other option instead of the 1/2" spacer is just to go with a 1.5 body lift on top of the 2" Quick Lifts, but that seems like a lot more effort to install if the 1/2" spacer gives me the room I need. I just don't know if the extra height will cause enough angle to wreck the ride.

And if I have to go with the body lift then I'm tempted to just go with an 18" wheel and the 35x12.5x18 BFG AT2s. From what I've seen they would probably fit. Too dang many decisions...

For those of you with the rancho quicklift loaded shocks. In the softest settings, does the truck finally absorb all the imperfections in the road instead of shooting the vibration up through out the entire frame and body of the truck like the stock shocks? About 12k miles in the shocks aren't going to break in anymore i think and they are still way to stiff. I think its time to take the plunge on the quicklift loaded set.

do you have sz71 shocks? I find the quicklifts are a little better for absorbing cracks in the road than my z71 shocks were, but I rode in my friends brand new LS the other day and the stock black shocks absorb that stuff a million time better than either of the ranchos.

Yea, mine is a z71 4x4. Ive been in a rental 14' Silverado (non Z71 suspension) the last 8 days as my truck was getting some warranty work done and I did find that suspension was a tad bit softer then my Z71 shocks. However, the truck def. still bounces over the cracks, skips around and shoots the vibration through the body and frame just like the others. That's why I was hoping the quicklifts on their softest of 9 settings did do that.

I guess that just goes to show you that ride quality is subjective to the person who's butts in the seat. Rancho has a money back guarantee if you don't like them. They will even cover the cost of an alignment.

I had the stock black shocks/springs (non z71) and switched to rancho quicklifts. I set it on 4 front / 6 rear. I think the Ranchos ride better than stock and absorb the big bumps better than stock. My wife cannot tell the difference and really like the way the truck rides. As a matter of fact, I looked outside earlier today and noticed she took my truck...

Unless you're towing heavy weight you should have the back lower than rear. I recommend switching to 6 in the front and 4 or 5 in rear. Again. Personal preference though and I just went by the recommended rancho settings.

Yes, I have added a spacer like that from eBay that is 1" to my existing 1.5" top mount spacer for a total of 2.5". I did not put a rear block in at all and on my Z71, it sits perfectly level.

Ill give it a try!

So if you guys were to switch the settings to super soft, like say 2 in front and 1 in rear for just commuting purposes, would if ride like a cadillac?

For me when I lower the settings it just gets really bouncy and rolls a lot in turns. I am enjoying it stiffer and stiffer the more I ride them. Also probably because its getting warmer and warmer here in Manitoba and warmer weather makes your vehicle ride softer.

It's always warm/hot here in Southern CA, so our suspension doesn't change much. Mine will just stay stiff regardless of temp. I find the suspension stiff that i too get the bouncy feeling on uneven highways. The suspension is to hard to absorb the roadway imperfections and dampen the hit before it transfers to the truck body/frame. And because the rebound is so fast, it basically takes whatever little the suspension gave and the shocks rebound back down hard/fast enough to continue the bouncing/skipping cycle. On some highways down here (we have HORRIBLY paved freeways) down here, it's a constant bouncy ride.

I was hoping the lowest settings of the suspension would just soak things in and just roll over em like a small sedan with soft suspension. (Yes I know this a truck and naturally ride stiffer etc.)

If you ever ride mountain/dirt bikes. Turn the fork/shock settings to it's fastest dampening/rebound settings, and you'll see what I mean in the first few minutes of your ride :P
