Thinking of selling my 14'...

Were not closing the doors down tomorrow or never hopefully. Things just are pretty bleak at the moment.

 

With having the 11 I could just pay it off if something happens. My truck if something happens I would sell it and then get something cheaper. My truck is actually the only other bill I have beside utilites at the moment.

 

 

 

After driving the 11 though...I couldnt' go back. Yeah it had more power, but the interior seems so dull. I'm just gonna hold onto the 14. What's the point of working if you don't have something nice to enjoy anyways right.

The war on coal didn't start last week, surely you were aware of it when you bought the truck. Is there something else making you worry about the purchase? Given the lack of alternative power plants in the country I don't think the government is going to force any closing of existing plants, but the cost of electricity could triple in the next 2 years while nocoal obama is in power.

If I were worried about my job right now, with my 6 month old 2014 truck, I'd sell it and drive our 3rd vehicle clunker that's long ago paid off and gets much better mileage. But that's me. And we do have a sizeable nest-egg as we near retirement.

I agree and thought of posting a similar reply. If my income or financial means was in threat I too would focus upon more important matters than the type, make, model of vehicle I drive. Transportation can be much cheaper if need be. Considering the OP's view is to go ahead keep what he has I'd gather he's answered his own question.

If you're truly worried you probably shouldn't be looking at another truck that's almost 30k.

good point. Really look at the math. your going to a cheaper truck etc. But the money you are losing on your truck, are you really saving money.

 

I can feel for you in what you are trying to do. But you are really trading an apple for an apple here. At the end of the day how much money are you saving. If you realy want to save money, you ditch the truch and find one thats older for maybe 15k or get a car thats maybe a year or two old for high teens with double the mpg.

I'm involved in the demo of 2 huge pre and post war coal fired power plants in the NE literally as I type this. Yes they're coming down. Too bad we're so scared of nuclear power....

He said during his first campaign that our electric bills would double, how big of hammer do people need? So much for reporters reporting. Obama care, still not getting the truth on that. And last yes there where weapons of mass destructions in Iraq, guess who has those now. That so called JV squad in the middle east.

I would keep it, providing everything goes to plan, you'll be fine. If (knock on wood) something bad was to happen, you could quickly sell it and move into a much cheaper truck. This all depends on you though, do you have the ability to jump into a new job fairly quickly? Do you have a stable financial backing if you need it? This seems like an issue that only you can tackle, people on here don't know you.

Keep the '14, you'll continue to gain equity in it with your bank so if you even did need to sell it, it would be worth more later. And then you would have more options for what you could drive then.
