Switch mounting options for 2014 Silverado

Here is how I installed two on-off-on switch for my light bar and my rear pods. The light bar is full on, on with highs, and off. The pods are on, on with reverse, and off.

Anyone else have ideas on how and where to mount the Spod switch bezel? Wether it's the universal mini or the ram mount option. Or if you guys came up with any different homemade bezels that still connect to the spod. This is driving me crazy!!!!

I realize you have two switches but did you consider removing the 2 cigarette lighter plugs in the console and putting the switches in those holes? I saw someone did it somewhere but can't find it again. Would those switches fit in the cigarette lighter plug holes?

 

I like the thought of that location because then you would even be able to use the factory covers to go over the switches.

Yeah, i thought about using the lighter plugs but I didn't want to lose any functionality.

I had a light bulb in my head come on this morning. I have a light bar and didnt want to drill any holes, so i bought the remote switch on ebay for these light bars(works awesome btw). On my way home from work today I was thinking, i bet that this little remote send off the same sort of signal that a garage opener sends out. Sure enough, I programmed it into my buttons and it works like a charm. Id highly recommend it.

How difficult was it to program? (I've never had a garage door or anything that I've ever needed to program to one of the garage door buttons in the truck. But I've always wanted to do my lights bars to those switches. Would be a lot cleaner. I may switch from my wired switch to this set up.

How difficult was it to program? (I've never had a garage door or anything that I've ever needed to program to one of the garage door buttons in the truck. But I've always wanted to do my lights bars to those switches. Would be a lot cleaner. I may switch from my wired switch to this set up.

If you have 5 spare seconds in your day you can finish it, but you will have to have the switches in your vehicle. For programming it, all i had to do was hold the remote up to my sensor with the button I wanted to train and the button I was training for about 5 seconds and it was done. I was literally driving, had this idea, stopped at a red light and programmed it. It was almost too simple.

If you have 5 spare seconds in your day you can finish it, but you will have to have the switches in your vehicle. For programming it, all i had to do was hold the remote up to my sensor with the button I wanted to train and the button I was training for about 5 seconds and it was done. Do you know if that harness can run multiple light bars? I have 2 and have a single harness that hooks to both. Would rather not have to buy and install 2 harnesses.

I think that he sells ones that will do that. I'd send the seller a question, see what he has to say.

I was wondering with those switches there what's behind the surface? Can I drill through and pull wires up? What do I need to expect? I got everything just need to mount the lights and wire them.

 

 

 

 

Here is my spot for my Rigid switches. I liked having them up on the dash where I could see when they are on but are still a little hidden by the steering wheel. GM provided a great interior so I didn't want to mess with the appearance too much.

 

I will add two more on the opposite side behind the gear shift when I am ready to expand to keep balance in the appearance.

How did you get the dash apart to install the switches?

Or if you have only the cargo light and traction control switches on dash Below the ac controls you can add upfitter switches.
