i have the same wheels and that looks nice. Not really a fan of the low pro tires though, but rims looks nice.

Wheels and tires are stock. Just painted wheels black.

Update: Took truck to dealer and it is a factory defect that is covered under warranty. GM is setting me up with a rental while the door is repainted. They gave me the option of repainting the entire truck but I chose only the door. If it doesn't match they will have to repaint.

So the color of your truck is really "tungsten flake metallic", right?

Looks like there are a lot of paint issues out there. My dealer told me they'd had someone in before me.

Also... After I had the wheels painted black the truck was pulling so I went to my tire shop to have them look at it. Turns out the wheels weren't balanced after the rubber was put back on. The reason: They painted over the stick-on weights. So in order to balance the wheels they had to pop off the old weights which broke the paint job. Going back to the dealer for refund and I will stay far away from that place.

wow. Tungsten, was the paint repair covered under warranty then? I'm having the same issue as you, and many others, had. This is ridiculous.

The dealer repaired it under GM warranty with no issue. The second repair was the body shops fault not knowing how to blend.

good to hear. I just noticed mine today. I'm gonna stop at the dealer tomorrow. Luckily i'm pretty good friends with the service manager.

That's clearly a sign of very very thin paint or poorly prepped paint.. That area behind the front tires on the door takes a good amount of abuse from road debris My GMT 900 has a few nicks in that area but they are very very small only noticeable if you are very close.. And I also have tires that stick out a few inches past my body..

And I would want the dealer to blend the door not just repaint only the door.. It'll never match if you just repaint the door only

That's exactly what I thought. I've had stock tires until last night, and this wasn't from 1 day of driving. I'm okay with little stone chips, I expect that, but this is unreal. The paint is flaking off. It's sad because I love this truck. Just hope I can get it fixed properly. Will get clear chip guard/bra asap after its fixed

I would have a clear bra installed along the first maybe 4 inches along the door to behind the rear tires also... If the paints doing that there it seems like it will be prone do to doing it everywhere.. Can't imagine what it would look like after 100k

It's a bad situation, because what if I get a chip on my a pillar and it does the same thing?

I found this site while searching for anybody else having paint issues. I only wish I had found it before buying my truck. If the dealer is giving you a hard time tell them to look up PIT5313a. They know they have trucks out there with the paint falling off them but they'll lie to you if they can. This is not a "sad" situation it's almost criminal in my opinion. I bought my truck six months ago, it has 5k on it and the paint is falling off? I think GM should offer vouchers to cover the depreciation so owners can get a new truck. With the technology we have in 2014 you would think they know how to apply paint by now. Buyer beware they're still selling these trucks! I have owned GM all my life, never again. Next one will be a toyota

Dealer gave me a hard time, but agreed to fix it. Will be painting front bumper and both sides of the truck.

Took my truck to the dealer, they informed GM about it. GM told them it won't be warrantied because they believe it was caused by a rock chip. Well, it probably was, but still the paint is flaking not chipped. They didn't even take any pictures of it, so how can they tell? Advice on where i can go from here.
