Another Plasti Dip question

Just wondering if anyone with Iridium/Tungsten metallic trucks have dipped their chrome bumpers. Ive slowly eliminated most of the chrome on my truck...wondering what it would look like. Im thinking it wont look that great

i have yet to see anyone plasti dip their bumpers. this would be great write up

Ive seen a few *ahem* dodge *ahem* guys do it, but they were black trucks.

 

Curious. Might try it when the weather is a bit better and decide to bite the high dip prices in Canada ($20/can)

there is a thread about bumper paint chips in the repair forum. someone plasti dipped their whole front end with clear. i'll probably do the same when i get around to buying some.

ive been planing on doing my bumpers and the chrome 4x4 emblems, thats going to be a summer project though.

 

it will look similar to how the aftermarket bumpers look with the flat powdercoating, ive even seen some that were sprayed with rhyno liner.

ya I'm thinking that if I do the bumpers black it may look funny being that its Iridium Metallic. I think black trucks and some of the other colors look pretty good. Currently searching car lots to see if there is an Iridium truck with the black bumpers....dont want it looking like the base model.

Theres a dark grey plastidip, idk how close it is. Won't look any better but it won't look like the black plastic bumpers. I picked some up for my rims but haven't got around to doing it yet.

Lasts weekend I was dipping my emblems and had a little leftover so I sprayed a big portion of my rear bumper just to see how it would look. I thought it looked pretty good against my tungsten paint. The texture kind of matched my black door handles and mirrors. I peeled it off since I didn't have enough dip on hand to do it right, but I'll probably do my bumpers when I have more time and Dip.

i have stealth grey, i think the OEM black wheel well trim with flat black bumpers, flat black rims and flat black running boards would look good.just have to try to eliminate as much chrome as possible.

im going to probably do the emblems as well.

 

worst case i blew $20 on plastidip and i peel it all off.
