That High Country interior is not just brown. It's saddle leather just like the King Ranch ford. It's tough and I like it, but YMMV. I'll bet it smells better too.

just picked up ltz z71...its got all the bells and whistles. the way i see...Z71 gets u actual parts and components that can enhance the truck...HC seems like an appearance/distinction thing.

LOL The debate will always go on, buy the truck you want and be happy with it and stop knocking the other guys truck. Not everyone wants the same things in their trucks, that is why GM makes a variety instead one truck fits all thank god.

Too be honest, HC basically just gets you a tougher leather, not just color. It's saddle leather, but other than that it's nothing special about it. I myself would just get an LTZ Z71 if I wanted all of the bells and whistles, but I'm perfectly fine with my LT which is basically a 2LT with the All-Star package I believe.

I voted High Country mainly for that real leather! Man, I just love real thick cowhide! Shoes, belts, boots, seats, chairs, anything I handle or touch, I love some leather! Rise, kill and eat some cows, then make leather!

I bought a Sierra All Terrain and would do it again. but the only other truck that I may go for is a High Country with the 6.2.

The decision should be simple, buy the truck you can comfortably afford.

 

I personally like how the All Terrain package is equipped and not a fan of the brown leather.

Got 3500 miles on it since I ordered it. Love my ltz z71.

And for affordability I option my ltz the same price as the HC so not a big deal.

I love how the All terrain is equipped with the Z71 package as well and the HC is not. The only thing I wish the AT had is cooled seats.

I'm a little late to this party...

 

I've only had a need for 4WD a couple of times in my life, so I am a 2WD guy. I decided earlier this year to trade in my 2000 LS Silverado that I bought new in October 1999 (214k Miles). After running every scenario on the various trim levels and options, I went with the HC. To get an LTZ optioned the way I wanted, it was within $1000 of the HC. But one thing I kept going back to was the HC grill, I absolutely love it. Also, I'm not a big mod guy, I still use a truck as a truck, so for the most part, if it doesn't enhance it's functionality, I don't add it. That being said, I love the HC wheels too along with the interior. So when I went to purchase a little over a month ago, I knew exactly what I wanted. To my surprise, my dealer had a 2014 in stock with 125 miles on it and it had every option except the sunroof, which was exactly what I was looking for, except I didn't really want the DVD system. So in the end, I saved a truckload (no pun intended) of cash and drove home the truck that day! But in the end, as it was said above, you have to live with it, so get what YOU want!

Color choices was the deal-breaker for me. If I couldn't get VICTORY red, not whatever that metallic red is, I had to pass. Whoever heard of such a thing...NO REAL RED? In '99 GM did the same thing with LTZ Silverados, no red color option. I had to order an LT with all the LTZ options to get the truck I wanted. That lasted one model year. I wish they'd wake up and offer the HC in real red. I didn't like the interior color at first but imagined how good it would look with real red paint and kinda started liking it. Think Ferrari :rolleyes: .

New truck



I voted High Country. I just traded my 07.5 with 40,000 miles for a 2015 High Country 4x4 this last Saturday. So far I have added a tonneau cover, tinted the windows, added a bug shield and put the wheels from my old truck on it. They are 305-45-22 and don't rub at all, where on my other truck they did on sharp turns. What shall I do next? The exhaust gets put on in 30 minutes!

Good stuff. The stock exhaust is pathetic on these trucks. What kind you going with?

 

I did exhaust and air intake and a couple minor things. My next major mod is a lift and tires!

      Do you remember that Harley Davidson was more successful (solvent) when it produced about 60% of the market demand (by design) and forced wait times of up to three years? Even when your turn came around it was, "Take what we are giving you or move to the back of the line and start over". HUGE markup's were 'normalized' and dealer killed. 40% markup and no floor plan? What's not to love? Greed will kill them yet. They have surplus production and customer base is tanking. And still they think nosebleed pricing will work.

      The engine was done as part of the 6.2 recall?   You'd have to see if your VIN also has the 6.2 engine special coverage on it.  Coverage number is N252494003.  If you have this, your engine is covered under this and NOT the GM replacement part engine warranty which is 3yr/100k from the date of install.  The 3yr/100k mi warranty is in effect for non warranty purchases.     This is not any different if it was replaced under warranty without a recall or special coverage.  So if you had a 5.3 and it popped at 3 years in at 50,000mi during the 5yr/60k powertrain, the replacement engine would not get the 3yr/100k, and instead gets the remainder of the 5yr/60k as coverage.     So N252494003 gives 10 years or 150,000mi of coverage, which ever comes first, starting at the vehicle in service date.  So if your in service date is 01/01/2022, N252494003 gives you special coverage of the engine until 01/01/2032 or 150,000mi, whichever comes first.  So if your start date was 01/01/2022, you'd have left 5 years and 4 months (lets round to august 1st), or 62,000mi left of coverage.   So you need to know your in service date to know how much coverage is left.

      Okiee dokie there bud, way to take things to the extreme.   I guess you missed the whole point and take things way to serious. I installed different EV6 style injectors that just so happen to be larger in my car running the same LQ4 engine and with a better spray pattern than the stock style injectors and I noticed no difference in the idle quality. Kinda was my round about way of saying that even if you put the same size but better style injectors in your truck, you will likely see the same thing.    I'm sure you're great to have conversations with in person if that's how you act through a keyboard. One little things sets you off and now I guess my dick is all up in your face.

      I can't believe that could possibly be the case. It should be 36mo/100k miles from installation. Then again, it also seems like since a dealership installed it, it'd all be in the system and you wouldn't need to worry about registering, either. Shows you what I know. 😄 Hope this one outlives the warranty!
