Reverse Camera **UPDATE**

Have you check the fuse box in the engine bay to see if you didn't blow reverse fuse? Maybe is making bad connection where you splice wires together and it blew the fuse. Happened to me when I was working on mine. Also maybe it would have been good to use a diode on that connection there so the constant power won't flow to reverse lights. Maybe that also can have an impact in the fuse for reverse

I’m not having any issue. I removed the reverse trigger signal all together since I don’t need it anymore. That trigger essentially sends voltage to the camera. Since I spliced it, the camera is always on [emoji6]

My harness comes in Tuesday.  Hoping to install Friday/Saturday.  I will report back with the results.

Gave in and bought the harness lol. I'm sure it was something simple that I didn't do to make it work, I just don't have enough much time to fiddle with it.

Nitro, keep us posted if you get your harness installed before I get to it this weekend!  I'd love to see your experience as well.

They said they will most likely ship it today so hopefully I get it before the weekend.

I just got my harness today, installed it and still nothing. It was late and dark so I will see if I can fix it tomorrow. The harness is real simple to install, so I need to re do everything to make sure I did everything right. I'm going to get rid of the truck taps and connect it directly then if it works ill solder the connections.

Getting blasted with thunderstorms here in AR, so I haven't had a chance to test it out yet.  I'm disappointed that it hasn't worked for you yet.  I will be extremely frustrated if this doesn't solve our problem after spending that much money on the harness...

Can you guys describe this harness? Where it plugs in and what it’s supposed to do?

Just opened the box for mine and planning to install it today!  Basically, it is a long harness that is able to run the length of the truck.  It contains the two wires necessary for a video feed that terminates in an RCA plug.  The other three lines connect to and near the BCM under the dash.  They are all related to power.  Two wires run power to the camera (I think one is an ignition constant hot, the other is switched on when the truck goes into reverse).  The next is an isolated ground.  Since we have factory cameras, the harness has an OE-style camera plug similar to that of the rear junction block that the camera would normally connect to.

Edit: There is also a mini "T" harness that is placed in-line for the gray plug that goes into the HMI.

I got it to work. So many damn pins on the bcm, I was plugging into the green plug and what I thought was pin 5 with the same color wires purple/yello and it was totally across the other side.

Phil they pretty much got a female plug that will connect to your camera, with all the pins on it. Then the harness goes to the bcm and 3 wires from the harness your supposed to connect to the bcm. One for power on reverse, one for auxiliary power and ground. Then 2 more wires are connected to a female video cable and run into the hmi. On the hmi they did a pigtail (factory Grey plug to hmi with every pin on it to a factory female plug with all pins and your stock harness Grey plug will plug there and in between the pigtail there's the 2 video cables coming out to male video cable that will plug into the one for the camera. I will post a video on here and YouTube.

Any luck yet?  Really hoping to hear a success story from you prior to tearing my truck apart to do this today.  Haha.

Edit:  Looks like we replied at the same time!  Glad to hear it worked!

Just fix it and works. The brown plug is easy to determine pin 26 for reverse power as is numbered there. Is one on a very corner. The green plug here's where you will find pin 5 as they are not numbered. Just hold the plug like it is on the pic and find the purple/yellow wire. There's 2 of each so make sure is the one on the pic 7938779f5c7fd1c9d0285f6d64c4ca94.jpg
