You guys are in luck. I have been doing a ton of research on this. YES GM offers a full function camera system for their trucks. Unfortunately they are too stupid to advertise it or inform their dealers of its existence. There are actually 2 brands that I have found that will work with the OEM infotainment system. One of them is made EchoMaster and is referred to as IntelliHaul by GM. It even has GM part numbers. I'll warn you... This process seems to be deliberately complicated as you can order each camera separately or with the base system. You need to make sure that you only order one with the base system and the rest as just stand alone cameras. All the parts can be found by going to your brands website and searching the accessories section(also a terrible experience).

https://echomaster.com/intellihaul/

The other system is made by ADC. It seems to have all the same functionality as IntelliHaul but adds and HDMI input as well. They make it a lot easier to see what you want and just add the cameras you need.

Wow I'm definitely going to look into the ADC one

THIS IS AWESOME! Do you know if a GM Dealer has to be the one to install or if there are other places that will handle this as well??

I've seen a camera from EchoMaster that is specifically made for the Silverado/Sierra 3rd Brake Light above the cab. Would something like that work or are you needing a below the tailgate view?

I'd like one on the bumper. Echomaster does seem to have ones that go above the lic plate. However, one up high might be nice as well.

Well based on that I'd look into what Z2Z shared, that setup looks perfect. If you only need the one camera I think there's a more simplified version on the site too. I searched by "See What Fits" or something of the like on the right of the main page.

Didn't look like they had updated everything to include 2018 functionality though so I searched 2017.

Search the forums.  There are already 2 or 3 threads with install instructions and pictures from guys that have already done it.

Forgot to ask, have you purchased any of these items yet, or still in the researching phase??

I believe that any competent audio shop could handle the install. You can get the parts from the dealer, but if they dont know what your talking about(like mine), I would not recommend having them do the install. Just find the part numbers and then order from GMPartsDirect.com

I have not made a purchase yet. I’m doing all of this for my Dad. He is super picky and wants it installed on his new truck by the dealer before he picks it up.

If I end up going this route, I’ll be doing the ADC system and connecting an AppleTV or Chromecast to the HDMI input.

Does anyone know which wire from the camera is the power wire? Looks like with my WT2 I have to run power to it.

Where? Can you provide a link, or which forum these threads are in? I haven't seen anything in this forum & there are a lot of forums on this site....

To clarify Z2Z's post- ADC is actually a reseller of systems etc.. The system in the link is actually made by a company called Rostra.

Lol I quickly found that out once I looked it up. Thanks though

Yes, that is the case, however I doubt that the product can be found for much cheaper than ADC's prices. I will do some additional research and share if I do find it elsewhere for less.

I don't think so either. Their price is very good

If you do a search you'll get 2 or 3 pages of results so I can't list them all.  Here are some of the main ones.

GM version:

MVI version:

It looks like you guys have figured it out. I initially thought that ADC was a brand because they are the ones that produced the video. It looks like the sell several systems, including the EchoMaster(IntelliHaul) system. The one that I linked in my original post is made by Rostra and it supports an HDMI input.

    • You're better read than that Atlas. 😏   British science fiction writer Arthur C. Clarke formulated three adages that are known as Clarke's three laws, of which the third law – that "any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic" – is the best known and most widely cited.   Stribeck and the pivotable Hersey Number isn't voodoo nor snake oil. That part is physics. It's what marketing and bean counters do with it that is snake oil and voodoo.    Stribeck is the relationship between Hersey and the Coefficient of Friction. Within the Hersey Equation if viscosity and viscosity is 'Dependent' on.......heat.......and.......viscosity index or the temperature to viscosity slope.    Specifically Hersey is the viscosity AT THE TEMPERATURE IN THAT LOCATION FOR THAT SLOPE.   Hydrodynamic lubrication exist when the film thickness in the location is 3X the Ra roughness of the surface. This is irrespective of the hardness of the substrate. To obtain that thickness X viscosity is required for Y velocity at Z load. That's a lot of moving parts. It is also impossible to maintain in an ICE but nearly possible with a turbine under constant load.    What does that mean? Error heavy and operate light. Wear is inevitable but the rate of wear and the milage obtainable are a function of prevailing conditions and HABITS. The only penalty is viscous drag and at fractions so low as to be well worth the effort. Double the life, half the manufacturing carbon foot print. Greed is the only impediment.    The materials generated by SwRI are the RESULT not an estimation or a hypothesis.    Don't delude yourself sir, EV's have as many pitfalls as ICE's. We just don't know what they are yet and it will take longer to sort as MARKETING and GREEDY CEO's have had more time to polish the turd they are selling.
    • You can always count on greed to prey on ignorance and stupidity.    Friend bought a 2019 Ford Flex and asked me about using Valvoline R&P 5W30 in it. Told him give the miles on it and the fact it wasn't yet using oil that it was a good plan. He uses a Valvoline quick change shop for his oil service.   First they tell him that isn't the oil the OEM recommends. He told them he didn't care what the OEM thought. Then they floated the, "But it will void your warranty"    His reply was it's a 2019, there is no warranty and informed them their knowledge of the law was lacking.    Then they tell him 'But it will ruin your motor"!.    Mine to ruin he says. Finally they give in and charge him 150% the semi-syn price    Point it the brainwash is so embedded that even the service industry is drunk on their swill. The public is right behind them. Echoing the same lies on every forum and media platform. If the end goal is indeed EV then I'd say that ship is about built.
