Now I'm thinking maybe my pins didn't go all the way in, see I undid the green clip but it didn't come out like he says, it just slide to the side. I'll check that this weekend.

I'm going to try to get off early to try it again. What they did was just grab power from that fuse box, I grabbed power from the tail light so is almost the same thing.

Where did you run your new video feed wiring?

Pretty much how he did it. His video feed wires where on the male Yello plug. And his plugs into the his female plug that hi tap into the hmi module. Mine were just straight wires all the way form the rear junction block to the same place on the hmi. Maybe I shod just tap into the camera and forget plugging into the rear junction block. I need to test a few ways out. I feel more confident now that is see how they ran it.

The 2 pins I, added top left are all the way in. Now that's out of the question, now I'm thinking ground and power not there. Will probably have to run all my wires to the camera harness and forget about the plug like MVI diddbe006573cafdad32e8a270a5b284969.jpg

Already done the MVI rear cam upgrade to my 2014 1500 2WT.. worked flawless and they make a super easy to do harness.

Go spend the money on it and save all these hassles.. trust me lol

Lol but where's the fun in that. Did you purchase the camera from them aswell? I bought mine off Amazon so I take it all they do is hook up their harness to the cables that came off the camera under the bed and they never plug in to the rear junction block correct?

I got an oem cam and got their harness system when I got the Apple car play and nav upgrade.

Plug and play at the camera connections.

Simply plug into HMI then run your power to the indicated terminal off driver side fuse box.

Easy easy.

I don’t see fun when you seem to be frustrated trying thing after thing man lol bite the bullet and pick the harness up. So worth the couple bucks!

My harness comes in next week.  If I had any issues as far as cable routing, etc, would you be willing to show some pics of your setup?  So, the camera connection is actually plug and play with the stock plug?  Good!

For sure! PM me and I’ll text you.

It’s easy though trust me. MVI makes everything perfectly.

Yup, plug and play with the oem cam!

Lol I'm trying to keep the cost down since i have other projects in progress. Saving to get my new gauge cluster reprogram and add steering wheel controls. Already did more then half the work on that.

Yeah I hear yah.

I just need the cluster now. Got all other things done for that mod. It’s one of my next mods for inside.

Gave in and bought the harness lol. I'm sure it was something simple that I didn't do to make it work, I just don't have enough much time to fiddle with it.

For those of you that tried this, does the camera not come on in reverse at all?

I have an unlocked HMI and have the ability to activate the rear camera anytime and while in drive. I had to perform a wire modification/splice at the X63A Junction Box is that my camera received constant Ignition Voltage instead of the Reverse Relay trigger.

Have you check the fuse box in the engine bay to see if you didn't blow reverse fuse? Maybe is making bad connection where you splice wires together and it blew the fuse. Happened to me when I was working on mine. Also maybe it would have been good to use a diode on that connection there so the constant power won't flow to reverse lights. Maybe that also can have an impact in the fuse for reverse
