I bought my new 2014 Silverado 1500 on Jan 2nd. I have wanted one since I saw it in 2013, but really, I could only afford a V6 version last summer. The 20% reduction sale really helped me with mine. Plus, the dealer had already installed the step rails, tinted windows, coated the bed in impact resistant deadener and add wheel locks to the wheels, so I had little to add.

I installed mudflats on the rear. I need the tool for the front mud flaps, but it has the windjammer on the hood.

I'm already wishing for bigger tires, but I can wait.

I appreciate the helpfulness of this forum. Thanks!

Thank you for the welcome. Of course I did not mean to imply anything negative about the V6. In fact, I thought it matched my old truck's 5.8 engine power output quite closely, but I wanted power to spare above that. And the LS1-based engine on the Silverado is awesome. If the mileage would be 30 MPG, I would have bought it a V6. :)

I have not been this giddy for a truck in a while. :)

Welcome to the club Gerry! I also am in NM with a V-6 and couldn't tell the difference because of the revamped 4.3..it's great with hp and mpg!
