Trip B Long term mileage?

Recommended Posts

I bought the truck the first part of November, Decided I would never reset trip B so I could keep track of fuel mileage long term. Been burning E10 winter blend Shell 87 Octane since I bought it. I have used the AWD as needed as we have had our share of ice and snow this year. When it's very cold I pre-start it and let it run for a while before my ride to work and back again. I checked it today and even though I have 4wd I was quite pleased to see the results considering all the variables.

Anybody else do this or something like it?

Bought mine in July 2013, trip B is about 36 miles off total mileage. After nearly 16,000 miles, my MPG is 17.4 and I've only used premium about 4 times. Seems pretty decent to me.

The onstar remote ap will give a 'lifetime' mpg number as well.

Mine has slipped a little. Now at 3000 miles and 17mpg.

Started last fall and this winter in winter blend. It's been below zero here for the last few weeks, the remote starts cut into the MPG's.

I use trip B for the 7,500 miles between maintenance intervals so I can see mileage rather than just the oil life %. I was going to not reset it to show the miles I put on it but I know it had 9 miles when I got it so it's not hard math to figure it out lol. I can't remember what it says though. And as someone mentioned, the OnStar Remotelink app shows lifetime and then trip A info as in miles and mpg.

I reset my trip B at my last oil change (beginning of November) and I'm currently at 6800 miles/17.1 MPG

I like that idea. Also a good way to keep track of what the OLM is recommending.

You guys ain't got squat. My 16,000 mile average is 13.4 mpg. Beat that!!!

I have not reset my trip B for the life of the truck, approaching 30,000 miles at it is at 17.4. I have an app on my phone where I log fuel fill ups and it is a hair over 17. I have also noticed that my computer and my hand calculated mpgs are the closest in any vehicle I have ever had. Usually within .2 of each other. Once the pump automatically shuts off, I don't ever try and put more in. I think that has accounted for most of the reason for the accuracy.

To add to my last post, I just checked mine today and at a little over 2,500 miles (reset at the oil change and will reset for each 7,500 maintenance interval when I do them) and it was at 15.7 mpg. Just about all of that is winter driving.

According to the app, lifetime is 17 mpg with 10,070 miles.

Mine is showing 16.5 MPG with 14,850 miles on the clock.

2,500 miles of which has been pulling my little 6.5 X 12 enclosed aluminium trailer. Not to bad for a 6.2.

I did the same thing (well with trip A). 11500 km, and its at 14.9 litres/100km which is 15.8 US mpg. Not great when it's supposed to be 13 city/9 hwy L/100, but better than I expected as the "Last 50km" has been between 15 and 20 L/100 for the last few months.

It sounds a lot better if I use Imperial mpgs... then I'm getting 19!
