Frustrating

When I first ordered this truck I was told it would take 6-8 weeks for delivery. Which was fine, because the rebates weren't that great in Feb., but then the truck was built in 2 weeks and its been sitting on a lot in Mexico waiting to be assigned a transportation carrier for the last 4 weeks. I'm a little frustrated, and I know it's seems like everyones gone through it, but I may not get as good of a rebate in April. Here's to hoping the 6.2 is problem free and it's worth the wait. I know this post is like a broken record around here but I just had to vent.

You can search my threads if you haven't already to see what I have been through and my frustrations. In the long run it was worth the wait, I ended up getting more money for rebates. Ordered mine in Dec and didn't get it till March

Do you check with gm chat for updates?

I encountered something like this. My truck was built and awaiting shipment from Silao. One of the discount offers was going to run out before the truck arrived. So, my dealer said to make out the sales contract paperwork within the offer date. We did that and didn't actually fund the truck, finalize the sale, and transfer title until after it arrived and I took possession. Got the discounts.

Hurricanoday, trust me I've read every word of your posts and what you went through. It just seemed that after being built so soon I would actually get it quicker. GM Chat told me today that because of all the winter storms that they were behind in their deliveries. Thanks Spurshot, I'm gonna see my dealer on the 30th to discuss options.

All you should need is the vin number to get the deal done. I had my paper work done a few days before my truck got to the dealer

I ordered in February also. My truck was built within 2 weeks of the order and it was shipped the same week. It has been touring the country via train for 1.5 weeks now. I was told that it would arrive in the local distribution yard late this week. Once it arrives in the last yard, it has to wait to be loaded on a car carrier to be taken to the dealership. I am having my doubts whether or not it will arrive at the dealer before March 31st. GM really should lock in the rebates to when you order or when you take delivery. For my area, there is a $2500 rebate on the Denalis until March 31st and I have no idea what the rebates will be for April.

Maybe they kept your truck at the factory for extra QC since it has the 6.2. I wanted to get the 6.2, but with all of the trans problems people are having, I chickened out and got the 5.3.

Similiar Scenario - was locking down my truck at the end of April 2014 and my work schedule didn't allow me to complete the transaction until May 2nd. Dealer told me as long as certain forms w/ VIN went to GM by April 30th , rebates would not be an issue.

OP: Good luck, the wait is worth it!

My dealer originally told me on March 2 that it was at code 4800 and it had already been shipped. I'm thinking he may have mistaken an 8 for the B which would have made it a 4B00, meaning it could have been pulled for QC. Now its been at 4000 since the 9th. I'll check again on Monday or Tuesday. I was also told they couldn't tell me how it was being shipped, I'm guessing by rail, until transportation has been assigned.

I ordered my truck in September and it was built in like 3 weeks. It was shipped and took like a week or so to get to Houston. It then sat in a lot in Houston waiting to get delivered to my dealership for about 2 weeks. I wanted to just go there and drive it to my dealer. I feel your pain but try to have a little patience. It will come barring some catastrophic event happens between now and then.

My truck only traveled 1-200 miles in the last 4 days. It's still over 600 miles from the final distribution center. I don't think I will get it before the end of March.

Talked with GM chat again this morning and the Silvy still hasn't moved, over 4 weeks and counting since it was built. I think I'm gonna go look at a 5.3 Denali tonite. It was actually my first choice until I found the custom sport package for the Silvy. I also could be sidestepping potential 6.2 problems. Any negatives I should know about with the Denali? I already understand the light issue.

I was driving my truck 3 days after it started down the assembly line...

Truck was made in Flint MI and my dealer is in North central IN.

Nope I have had zero issue with my Denali.

Well it looks like we're back on the Chevy. Stopped in the dealership today and he told me it was released from QC this morning. This whole time I was led to believe by GM chat that it was still waiting on transportation from Mexico, when in fact it has been sitiing at the Port of Baltimore (about 15 miles away) for the past 2 weeks. My dealer also is gonna do the contract so I can still get the rebates, but he's thinking it may be here before the end of the month anyway.
