Water under floor mat

Hello guys,

Seems like when it rains or if I even go through the car wash and get the under body flush, I get decent spot under the floor mat on the drivers side. Anyone else see this issue. I haven't taken it in yet, I can't fr a couple of weeks.

Is the water under the cabin carpet? Do you notice any water coming from the headliner(drivers sun visor). If so it could be the onstar antenna. If coming from the fire wall it could be a groment for the E-brake or steering shaft???

You got a water leak buddy. You need to get looked at pretty quick. Not only to fix it but to prevent mold. The same thing happened on my 2007. The leak was coming from the back window and running downhill and under drivers side floor. Got it fixed. Did not give it a second thought. THEN, about a year later you could not even stand to get in the truck. MOLD. The service tech said he could smell it from outside the truck and with the windows up. Point is, it took over a full year to realize how bad it was. All the carpet and underlay had to be replaced. Mold can make you and your family very sick and you wouldn't even know why until the smell shows up. Good luck.

On 7/6/2015 while cleaning my 2014 Silverado LT Z71 Dbl. cab with 3,300mi. on it, I noticed that the carpet on the front passenger side was saturated with water. The doors and windows were fully closed. I immediately took it to the dealer. After three days of drying out and a leak test, they had no answer. On 7/13/15 after heavy rain I check the floor and found a puddle of water in the same area. I pulled up the trim and carpet and found water dripping down the right inside of the front fender under the dash and almost directly under the radio antenna. I checked the antenna and it seem to me that the entire fixture was loose, not just the whip. I took it back to the dealer and told them what i found. I'll update with the dealers findings and solution. I was really enjoying my new $40,000 truck up until now. I hope they don't disappoint me. I don't want to but I will jump ship for that kind of money.

I used to get a puddle IN my floormat from a leak in the roof. It was going down the A-pillar, behind the dash, and then dripping onto the mat. I have the premium all-weather mats with fuller coverage. You might check that path.

Or you could check your parking brake grommet in the floor. Get under your truck and you'll be able to see. There are only a couple of cab intrusions around that portion of your truck. It should be easy to spot.

The Puddles I see are under the carpet on the passenger side only. I use Weather Tech floor mats for full coverage. No water laying on top. No water coming down the A-pillar. No plugs in the area on the passenger side.

Update: Picked up my Truck on 7/16/15. Here is the Dealers response as written on the work order. "Duplicated passenger floor concern and removed door sill trim. Sprayed passenger side of truck found leak coming from harness coming from inside fender and found rubberboot not engaged over retainer + boot. Resprayed truck and found customer concern repaired. All as designed re-engaged boot over retainer."

I will let you know how it works out after a couple of good down pours.
