my 14 Crew Cab, where is the tranny made?

I need to verify where my tranny was made... Is there a way to know for sure? My crew was built below the border so I thought there was a plant in south America that built the 6 speed.

It's listed on the window sticker. Bottom right corner under Parts Content Information. Mine says engine US and Transmission US but it was built in Ft. Wayne.

Chances are very high it is a Toledo, OH built transmisison.

Maybe the correct terminology would be "assembled in the US" as individual transmission parts could be made in Mexico, South Korea, China, Taiwan, etc.

Yes I am aware about parts that's may come from outside the US. The crew cabs are built in Mexico but since I am having trans issues I was hoping to stay away from a trans assembled in Mexico if they are made down there. I believe they are made in Canada also just not sure. There should be a label somewhere to ID it. I need to know for sure.

GM powertrain says Toledo or Mexico. Given your truck was built in Mexico I'm guessing the trans is from there too.

I just do not have confidence in Mexican built products. To me, they haven't proven they can make quality stuff. I've seen too much of their "carpenter" work here.

GM likes Mexico enough that in Dec they announced further investment of $5 Billion in that country in order to double the capacity there.

Really not many issues with mine either... Back lighting did not work when I bought the truck and I told dealer that I wanted them to work as they were displayed in the broche. I have had the truck for 16 months now and this shift "flair" is not only concerning but embarrassing too.

With the aftermarket muffler it is very vocal when the tranny "flairs" and the rpm's jump a 1,000 rpm.

GM did contact me and I have a case # now assigned to this, but it's hard to replicate. I am suppose to take it to my dealer Tuesday and a tech is suppose to ride with me so I can try and reproduce the "flair". They originally said they could not produce the problem so GM suggested I take it to another dealer for a second opinion... I did and the control solenoid assembly was replaced & valve body was disassembled and cleaned. I also see "SPS code S0311" but not sure what it means... maybe a code from the module???

The next day it did it 3 times...

That code (SPS code S0311) is a programming confirmation/verification code. SPS = Service Programming System.

I hear you on the noise jump when the trans flairs. Even with just an intake going up hills in slow sleep it will flair and make it sound like I'm putting around. By putting I mean give gas a quick throttle. Lol, kind of embarrassing cause people outside think your revving or something. Ahahaha good times

Just because it was assembled in Mexico doesn't mean it's not going to be as good quality wise, at least when it comes to automobiles or automobile parts. They still have to operate under certain regulations and and they assemble according to GM's specs.

Most if not all of the good quality clothes, shoes, boots, devices and so on are made/built/assembled outside of the US. Would I rather have good quality stuff from the US? Of course because I'm an American and want American jobs, but I'm not going to pay more for less quality just because it has a "Made in USA" tag. I buy the brands I like and want, if it was made in the US then great but if it's not then oh well. Don't have to agree with me, it's just how I am.
