A mag mount is probably what I will do. I drilled a hole in the roof on my last truck. Garage door clearance will be the deciding factor on this truck.

I did have a 6ft preadtor 10k mounted to my bed that worked really well, ill probbly put it back on after i fab a new mount for it

I'm familiar with both of those sites. Breedlove makes some top notch stuff. My truck has the plastic covers all the way around the rails and I'm probably going with a tonneau cover as well so a bed mount is problematic. Besides, nothing works as good as one right in the middle of the roof so at some point that is probably what I'll do.

YES - roof mount is the best . I have my antenna on a trunk mount on the hood driver side, NO holes to drill , Also low garage door. check your local two-way radio shop for ideals also.
