Is This The Vibration Issue?

So I have 4700 miles on my 2015 double cab 4x4. Since I drive a lot of in town and back roads and only get up to around 55mph. Today we went to our state fair in ohio and spent an hour doing 70mph my wife asked why the truck was vibrating. I look at the bottles of water in the cup holders and they are shaking all over, cant even hold my phone in the passenger seat without it shaking and making me sick. I had never thought about it but ive looked over and see the passenger seat shaking. Should I get it into the dealer or this not as bad as what others have experienced? Ive read some people say it feels like a flat tire, this isnt nearly that bad.

Is it "that bad" depends what you mean by that I guess, I think it's pretty F'ing bad that a truck that can sticker for over $60k vibrates like a cheap massage chair at the mall. Once the "shiny new" feeling wears off, when the paints a little duller and the leather a little worn, when you've been driving and maintaining it for a few years and it has 70,000 miles on it maybe and you realize- hey I just finally paid off this $50k truck and now I own it outright and it's still vibrating, I think maybe at that point you'll realize it's utterly unacceptable.

That is the vibration, no it won't go away, yes GM knows about it, and no they don't know how/won't fix it.

Sorry to be a pessimist, but I'm on my 2nd and have 37,800 miles on it and I am fed up. 15 times to the dealer (not just for this issue), over 1.5 years of ownership (on the 2nd one) - but hey I got to test drive lots of loaner cars/trucks in the meantime so I guess that was cool.

Have your tires road force balanced. If it still shakes, then yeah, it's the vibration issue.

Mine was shaking between 70-75, had the tires balanced, now it's smooth...

Ya take it in. Some people with the issue has gotten lucky and been able to get it fixed with a set of tires or a new driveshaft. I have about 14,500 miles on my '14 LT and haven't had any vibration at all.

I had this same thing with my 2011 crew cab 2wd

It's called frame beaming. Think of your frame like a tuning fork, when you hit a bump it's like the vibration with you hit a tuning fork. I had all tires road force balanced, drive shaft balanced. Some even had their Goodyear tires replaced with Michelin tires

What funny is not all of the trucks were like that.

My 2015 CC 2wd does not vibrate, I test drove about 7-8 trucks over a year to find one that is smooth as glass

Mine shook like hell over 65 mph with 15k. Went and bought new toyo tires. Rides like a dream. Wrangler tires that come on it are garbage. Will say the steering wheel didn't shake, but the passenger seat shook and made a rattle noise and anything in the doors shook and rattled. Really annoying so I feel your pain.

Is it happening only while the AFM is on? Do you have an aftermarket exhaust? I've read where AFM could cause vibration pulses with some aftermarket exhausts. Just a thought.

As others have said. Start with the tires......

I don't have any vibrating/shaking, but if it starts, that's where I'm gonna start.

i noticed a small vibration when i first got my truck (used)...

i put 33" toyo and a 2.5 RC level and have no vibrations what so ever...

so in my experience i would also believe it is a shitty tire issue...

"frame beaming" is a term I hadn't heard before. Sounds like a description of "resonant vibration" which can occur to about anything.

I bought a 2011 GMC Extended Cab brand new that had been in dealer stock for about 18 months. It was obvious during the first 2000 feet of the test drive that the tires were all flat spotted from sitting that long. The salesman admitted that they weren't moving their inventory around to prevent it.

GM ponied up for a new set of tires, two which cam in defective and thumping. On the next try they got it right.

Truck rode like a dream until I traded it.

I could see this happening with tires. If there's something else going on with the design, that'd be a real shame.

Mine vibrated too like yours so to the dealership I went. After road force balance, new wheel, and tire most of the vibration is gone. Still vibes a little between 70-80 but not bad. Road conditions should also be factored in as well. My thoughts are new tires and getting rid of the LS2's I have now. Yes take your truck in and watch the look on their faces when you say your truck shakes. Priceless

This is my truck. Is this what you are feeling/seeing? If it is and you want it fixed, do it now and fast. Bring it once, if it is not fixed bring it RIGHT BACK. Do that as fast as possible and as many times as you need to get Into the lemon law requirements for your state. Be careful of mileage, if you rack up a lot they will make you pay for usage (some or all is negotiable sometimes). Our that video is after the 5th and final repair attempt with GM engineers from MI or wherever present. Obviously they couldn't fix mine. Good luck!
