There is waterless car wash you can look for online, I live in apt and go to a Double Bubble Car wash a few miles away. Use foam brush on windows, chrome , wheels and soak large micro towel with soap to wash body panels. I have to work quick before soap and water evaporates, use clean towels to dry and Detail Wax when needed.

Dry in one direction. Don't just swirl your (chamois, microfiber) in all directions. I start at the top going horizontally on the truck and you'd be surprised after all the washes I barely have swirl marks.

Good to know. One direction eh?! What say you about spray wax? Same application method?

Spray wax not so much but I would still apply the same. as it's more of a lubricant so the paint isn't scratched as easy as if you were just drying it in general.

I use everything chemical guys. Love there products. I use there foamblaster and wash mitt to wash it off then I dry it off with an airforce blaster. I have chemical guys blacklight, v07, butterwet wax, and speed wipe that I use on the paint. I also use there vrp for my tires, tonnaue cover, and interior vinyl.

f652325a4a955c23c7ed1a9df21ecc2f.jpgmine only stays clean for a day or 2, the city waters the flowers in my subdivision every time I either go to work or coming home from work, so I hit it every time, but she's pretty when she's clean

Yeah, I like their products (from the few I've used) as well. As stated, I picked up some soap and butter wax. Hoping to borrow a friends Jet Seal from Chemical Guys to try it out prior to winter and then wax over that.

I like some spray wax in between waxes and after washing to help keep it lubed.

Is the Blacklight a soap? How about V07?

Just bought a bunch of the HD stuff from Autogeek. I'll post pics and reviews after I detail her for the first time. I have had it a month and the only wash she's gotten is from the dealer before I picked it up. Has some light scratches on the hood - very light - but I can see them with a fluorescent light. most likely caused by dealer detailing....They'll easily buff out though - so no worries.

I washed my truck yesterday. And of course it rained today and ruined it! Oh well.

I use Meguires Gold Class soap. But everything else I use to detail is Chemical Guys. I like their products.

Wash with foam gun and 2 bucket method. I use all chemical guys products except QD+ from Poor Boys world. I only use quality micro fiber towels and my towels are organized for each vehicle and which purpose each color towel is used for....I know I'm OCD as hell.

I go through a "process" on all my vehicles every 6 months.

Process is as follows.

-Wash with 2 bucket method, foam gun, and Mr. Pink or Bug and Tar soap

-Clay using Chemical guys Light duty clay and luber

-blow dry and use speed wipe

The below process depends on the level of correction needed

I either use my Flex or Porter Cable Random polisher with 6.5 Hex Logic pads and using speed wipe in between each product.

-V-32 with Yellow pad

-V-34 with Orange pad

-V-36 with Green pad

-V-38 with White pad

-Seal with Black light and Black pad

I use a different wax for each vehicle.

-Dark Metallic- Petes 53

-Black- Concours 50/50

-White / Light Metallic- White

-Red- LAVA

The full paint correction takes me 10-18 hours depending on the size of the vehicle.

A bit of advice I can share is use a high quality masking tape and masking paper to keep the products off of areas they are not meant to be used on.... Like textured plastics, rubbers, chrome, and convertible tops.

Black light is a heavy paste that can be applied by hand or pad with a polisher. I let mine sit 30 minutes before removal.

V-07 is a line and they have a soap and a sealant under the V-07 line. I have never used either of them though.

I've been using the Zaino products for years on my truck, and don't have any complaints. I have a few pieces of Griot's gear, MF mitts with an extension pole, 2 wash buckets, orbital polisher and misc pads. Usually can get about 9-12 months of water beading with a couple coats of Z-2 and Z-6 maintenance. The orbital polisher has really cut the time down with the application and it's not a massive workout to operate. Typical process that others have described above, wash, dry with leaf blower/compressed air, clay bar with Z-6, quick wash and dry again, 1 pass with polish (Z-PC) for any swirls, 1 pass Z-6 quick detailer, 2 passes of Z-2 polish with Z-6 between, the finish with Z-8. Usually do the windows with white vinegar and newspaper then rain-x. Once a year I'll hit the windshield with Griot's glass polish. Also use the 303 protectant on the tonneau and tires.

I know this may sound silly but I have noticed that these trucks in my opinion are easier to wash than the 900s. They do not hold the water in the trim, molding,

mirrors & grille like my old one. As a guy that hand washes regularly, that's a nice perk!
