aftermarket exhaust question

I want to put a cat-back exhaust on but my exhaust guy said that it might sound bad when it goes into v4 mode. Has anyone have this problem? Thanks in advance.

Your dealer is absolutely correct and Just about everybody in here has that problem. Tons of info already posted in here...

There are exhaust systems that have no drone, some that are unbearable and a crap load in between.

Get a tuner and turn off the v4

Yes. it sounds bad. Dubbed the helicopter noise. It sounds like a misfiring engine. I had AFM tuned out of my truck so it never goes into V4 mode. Sounds way better at all speeds.

I think you're confusing drone with the V4 engine note. Drone is when one certain frequency of sound becomes shrill and hurts the ears. The V4 engine note just plain sounds bad. Not sure if the Borla kits have an internal flapper valve to mitigate that noise.

AFE- theres a change in the note with windows down but it doesn't sound bad. Not really getting the helicopter sound.

just put AFE on last week...love it. dont notice any drone and it sounds great.

A video of the magnaflow would be nice. I want a little rumble but not too much. How is the cabin noise with this setup?

I seen a couple on youtube. One of them sounded stock and the other's sounded slightly louder than stock. And one sounded good but he removed the 3rd cat and had no flapper and no resonator
