Hi dwilli. Ask your dealer why that is. I did some research, but I couldn't find any other cases. We'd love to know more about what GMC says. You're info could help others. There seem to be serious growing pains with Android Auto and I am looking for more facts to build a story. Thanks for the comment back.

John,

Here's what I got back this morning from GMC. Poor excuse without a solution for something I ordered They also jumped the price of the 6.2L engine by $200 which is why no one noticed because the bottom line price stayed the same. I read in several places that Android Auto COULD be installed later this year at no charge but she doesn't say that here:

Thank you for your message Mr. Williams. Due to a temporary supply disruption, certain quantities of 2016MY Silverado 1500/2500/3500 and Sierra 1500/2500/3500 trucks were built without Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility. It appears your truck was one of the affected units. The price of your truck was reduced by $200 due to the loss of functionality. This credit is shown on the window label of the vehicle. Due to the supply constraint, an update for your vehicle is unavailable at this time. An update may be available in the future. I am sorry to pass along this information.
