All Terrain 20" wheels in winter

Does anyone out there run their All Terrain stock 20s on their truck through the winter months? How do they hold up from the salt/sand? I'm contemplating whether getting a cheap set for the winter is worth it.

I'm gonna guess that 90% of people run them in the winter. If you take care of (clean / polish) your wheels, they'll stay looking good.

Ran mine all last winter. No issues with sand or salt. I washed my truck about once a week in the winter and made sure to give them a decent cleaning in the springtime. They had a couple little pits in them but it could have been from driving down a gravel road in the summer too.

It's a truck, not a sports car with $500 chrome wheels.

Awesome! Thanks guys. I'll just be sure to spray them off on the regular!

Did you run your OEM tires in the winter last year?

I ran stock tires and wheels last winter with no problems. Got Toyo MTs in the spring and drive on the beach all summer long. So my truck sees salt and sand year round in Delaware. No problems so far.

Just like anything on the truck, over time winter will take it's toll and it will start to show. But nothing on your truck will last forever anyway.

The only issue I had was from ice and snow build up. They would vibrate like mad until it melted or I ran it through a carwash.

But they held up ove the winter well.

Make that 99.9% of all-terrians using stock wheels year round.

Run them, they are clear coated, don't let tire shops install outside wheel weights, don't curb them, and keep them clean and they should last a very long time.

Yup factory Goodyear SR-A's.

I'll wear them out and buy some actual AT tires when its time.

I bought my truck in January. The wheels saw a fair amount of slush and salt. I tried to make sure the salt didn't stay on them too long. I didn't do anything special except hose them off now and then. They look fine. I'd be more worried about the lousy Goodyear tires. It's a shame to put those tires on a truck labeled All Terrain.

Got mine in March. Ran the stock wheels and tires through the winter/snow. No issues. This year I'm covered....in plastidip.
