Doesn't matter. Anything past 3.73 and you out of luck since GM didn't produce it. At least this is what I have been told thus far. I would love for someone to tell me opposite and be able to regear!

4.30's on 37's would be same final drive ratio as 3.73's on stock tires. I would go no less than that with the extra weight. I personally would go 4.56 if/when gearing is an option.

I'm in the market for a 15/16 GMC Sierra. I want a 6.5" lift and 35 or maybe 37" tires. Honestly I want it for looks and occasional camping. I'm more worried about MPGs. Any advise? Do I get the biggest gears from factory? Do I get a chip/computer?

If you want a 6.5" lift you better damn well get the deepest gear/tranny combo GM offers, which would be the 6.2 8 speed max tow, and that eliminates a Denali, All Terrain, or Z71 model right off the bat.

 

Your MPG's will be single digits around town.

Since my original post on the first page I have spoken with Yukon and G2. Both say they will have gears available for the 9.76" rear end sometime late fall to next winter.

He's on to something here. The fact of the matter is once those big tires and wheels go on your MPG's will drop. Gears will help recuperate some of it but I wouldn't expect the same MPG's again.

Ah, I didn't see that typo in my post. But yeah they both told me earliest late this fall to early next winter (2017). Seems crazy that it takes 3 years to create gears. Guess there isn't much of a demand.

Jesus...another year? I was happy to get the 9.76 this time bc I was always worried about my last trucks 10 bolt on 35s. My 3.73s are obviously OK now, but I feel the lift bug biting again...

I had the same reaction as you. I told both Yukon and G2 to notify me when they release products or need testers. Neither seemed like they would do a great job updating me though.

I'm just curious how people get in and out of a truck like the one shown in the OP? Especially passengers.

Either the help of running boards or a little hop.
