Bose vs No Bose. Which is worth it?

The Bose system adds a small sub in the console and better front door speakers.

Some folks are happy with it, I think it is good but could use more sub punch.

The highs and mids are decent once the system gets broken in.

Personally I plan to add a 10 inch sub and amp and put in some filters to take the bass out of the doors to improve on it. Y

If you could get a decent component system with an amp and sub for the money it might be a better use.

Note that folks who do a wholesale upgrade report louder than desired door chimes and other warning sounds so do a bit of research.

"No highs no lows just bose" lol

I have the bose option though and its sufficient for my use as I don't want to dick around putting in another system into my DD, I've got a project car I've gone big audio on and hell yes it sounds good but it also cost a fortune.

What do u have now? I came from a 05 with bose, I will tell u that my 14 base audio on my all terrain sounds just as good, maybe not quite as "loud" but quality is there, so how much better is the new bose? Not sure. Only heard a few and only at the lot so I didn't play to much

I think there is another thread like this with lots of replies about bose vs no. That aside I don't have the bose but I am very impressed with the stock audio. The best part is the amazing bass for having no real sub and on stock settings. I still plan to eventually get a sub so I can get better mids out of the speakers. This stock system sounds better than my Civic with premium sound "including sub" and my WRX with full OEM kicker upgrade. It has been a real bonus.

Like everything else on the trucks people have to bitch about something lol. I have no issues with my bose on my 15 beyond the fact that honestly the sub doesn't do anything. The front door speakers hit hard with bass and you can't even feel anything in the console.

If you don't plan to replace the standard sound system with aftermarket speakers but want an upgrade, yes it's worth it in my opinion. If you plan to go aftermarket, skip the Bose and just go standard and then replace the speakers with an aftermarket system of your choice. The front speakers in my old truck were $400 alone aftermarket so $500 is a bargain in my opinion if you get a sub thrown in the mix.

I love my 14 bose unit. Best system I've ever had, and I've had the bose on many gm's before. I heard things on some of my music I've never heard before, and too me it's sounds crisp and clean all the way to max volume. Even my 17yr old said it was pretty good when we played his boom-boom crap. My wife loves it too, as it blows away her top-line Dodge unit. When she gets some new music she wants to hear it in my truck. I think it's the best bose unit gm has put in to date.

I have the Bose and love it. Perfect for my needs. It def has nice bass. I have my treble turned up pretty high and the bass at like 1 or 2 and it sounds great

Love my 15 bose with Sub. Previously had a 14 without bose and while I thought it compared to my 05 Sierra with bose, it is nothing like the new Bose. If you cannot notice how good the new Bose is, you either have bad quality music (XM) or do not have it set up correctly. JMO
