That's an abs system fuse.... that's useless. I want abs to function while stabilicrap goes away forever.

I don't want this for offroading. .. I just want it non functional under any circumstances where it will screw up what I have done for about 20 years. I will as time rolls on.

What fuse? I can kill it with the ABS fuse out but I want to keep ABS function... it's one of few things that I don't mind having lol. I need to look in HP and EFI to see what I can do from the suites to reduce it's function.

HPT cant do a thing for Stabilitrak, it is a function of the BCM and HPT tuners doesn't have access to that module. You cant pull any fuses either unless you pull the ABS which then removes ABS from working. AS said there is no real way to disable stabilitrak, once wheel speed reaches 35mph the system turns back on automatically.

Yet. Hpt or efi don't have full tcm capability for the 8 speed either... And EFILive is another option obviously and I own both. Where there is a will there is a way. When I had my F150s I was told the exact same thing multiple times for the advancetrac. Did enough digging and found someone who could kill it and retain abs... and we did.

Thanks guys. Well if we ever get any snow I will get to try it.lol..from what I get I will prob use it on the highway, and not around town. Just going to take some time to get use to it.

As a previous poster stated, it is not as bad as some other vehicles. I also have a 2012 F150 work truck and it is 10x worse in it, kicks in way too often. I have been driving rear wheel drive trucks my whole life and never had TC until I got my ford work truck. It is useful sometimes but after 20+ years of not having it I know how to handle a RWD vehicle with a light rear in rain/snow.

I have had 4 speed auto (GTO) and 6L80 (G8GT) equipped GM vehicles both had custom dyno tunes and while the tuner did not "remove" stabilitrak, he certainly raised the threshold of when it will intervene substantially, to the point where I did not consider the system intrusive any longer. Also, I believe both of those vehicles allowed you to fully disable traction and stability control.

If you get the 8 speed custom tuned increase shift torque, adjust shift points, and eliminate or greatly decrease torque mgmt I would imagine the end result would be a better behaved transmission/truck even though not directly addressing the stabilitrak/TC systems it would make them less obnoxious, correct?

First thing I do when I get in the truck is turn the auto lights off and press and hold the traction control to turn off traction control and stibilatrac.

4 lo will disable both TC and Stabilitrac.

I do not see any of these trucks spun out in the ditch. GM does a good job keeping these trucks rolling down the road.

Pressing and holding isn't really doing much for you unless you don't plan on going faster than 35 mph.... because the Stabilitrack comes back on then anyhow. I just do the one touch nowdays because I am never driving slower than that constantly.

Tuning my transmission won't do anything for this..... I don't feel the torque management in this truck like I have with others. I would have tuned it by now if I felt it to be warranted.... but its not. It burns tires like crazy in the first two gears, shifts fast and even has a firmer feel with the WOT shifts. Truck doesn't bog on shifts or do anything really stupid other than the odd clunk which tuning may or may not help. Maybe if I do headers or a cam, which I doubt I willever bother, I will tune it. That does nothing for the stabilitrack function though. I just want the truck to drive like my 05 in that regard I guess is the best way to put it. It's not bad though as is.... could be a lot worse lol.

I see plenty of all new brands of trucks in the ditch in the winter..... but then we actually get real winter here for long periods of time too lol.

Dude you completely missed the issue, HPT, EFIlive and all of the others tune the ECM and TCM, the stabilitrak program is a function of the BCM which none of those programs can access or will ever access. There is only 1 person that I know of that can even tune a BCM and that is because he worked for GM and knows the programming code.

When I had my 2006 GTO the T/C was part of the engine and transmission side of the tuning, GM changed that several years ago. Playing around on the Audi forums because of our new car I have found that the programming options on the German cars lets you change almost anything, and I mean anything in the vehicle. I wish we could get that kind of power on the domestic vehicles.

Dude.....lol please don't ever call me that again... Fords system is through the BCM and I was told the same damn thing.... no one could touch it and never would. That's funny... enough time and research and voila.... we shut it off. It wasn't with HP or EFI obviously but that doesn't mean it's impossible to do. You probably are correct that efi and hp won't. .. they are kind of useless in the grand scheme of things for this stuff. I don't even care about tuning the engine or the trans honestly.... Mine runs damn near perfect as is and I don't need anyone screwing that up... It's just time and research my friend.... that's all.

Sure thing, still missing the point that only 1 person other than GM has the programming info on GM BCM software and I believe he even said on some of the other boards that he will not release that info, EVER. If he wont release it then it is not going to happen anytime in the near future for us.

He won't be the only one beyond GM.... he's just the only one you know of. Some guys like to play god... I get that... and still don't care lol.
