Suction noise after catch can install

No, not in the tank. In the tank will do nothing as the fuel in GDI is introduced directly into the combustion chamber and never touches the valves. Only if sprayed into a vacuum line or the TB can this do any cleaning.

Big difference between fuel hose and transmission hose PSI ratings.

Correct. The hose that should be used is Fuel vapor PCV hose or transmission cooler hose due to the stiffer side wall to prevent collapse under vacuum. Fuel hose is designed to have pressure inside and not vacuum. Heater hose will not stand up to the fuel vapors.

I replaced the line Elite sent with transmission line from autozone, no more collapsing of the line and less noise. I had been getting a hint of that catch can smell lately too, my pipe tape had turned brown at one of the fittings so it was leaking there. Got that all fixed as well.

Highly recommend transmission line and keeping an eye on fittings and connections.

You would think that for the price Elite charges they would include the proper hose.

You beat me to it. Elite should send transmission hose. The price difference is probably less than 2 bucks. Changed mine out today and the sucking noise went away, and the engine seemed to idle more smoothly too. Thanks guys for the good advice on here.

I thought Elite did send good vapor/PCV hose...can someone take a picture of the writing on their hose?

I already pitched mine, but maybe someone else can. I think it said Continental on the side if I remember right. Either way it collapsed almost flat on mine.

Continental Fuel/Emission 3/8" (9.5 mm) SAE J30R7 50 PSI WP Made in USA

I went to the auto parts store and bought transmission cooler hose, but still have the hose that came with the Elite E2-X can because I don't throw anything away. I also still have a hissing sound with the can, but hopefully it's just the sound of air rushing through the can and the check valve. I don't think I have any leaks and my hose is not collapsing, but there's more noise than I thought there should be.

Emissions rated hose is made to operate under vacuum. There will generally be some noise just due to the flow through the separating devices internally, but as long as hose is not collapsing you should be good.

Yes, thank you! These guys were getting off course with PSI hose ratings, lots of home amateurs and the power of the internet. (if your hose is being sucked flat, you may have other issues, or defective hose, but yes a reinforced higher PSI hose will hold up better)

Back to the suction noise, if you don't have any smoke to see if it gets drawn/sucked in, you can reverse leak check the catch can by applying pressure and soapy water/bubbles (hose's & catch should be isolated from the vehicle, minus the check valves ) Check the threads, these are notorious for leaking esp on plastic fittings.

Be sure the catch can drain valve is not open/defective, again check the threads. Just b/c you install new parts doesn't mean they flawless (this is a lesson even I had to learn the hard way). That being said, 9 out 10 times its user install error.

Lastly recheck all PCV hose connections at the air intake housing, engine, valve covers,& oil cap.

Guess I'm one of the at home amateurs but hose was sucking almost flat. I posted a vid as well. Trans hose 3x the PSI and doesn't deform any. 6 bucks.

The hissing is normal, just air passing through can and the check valve. If you pinch the pose together to stop air flow you'll hear the sound stop.

I have 2000 miles on my truck and took the hoses off today and looked in the throttle body and intake etc and didnt find a drop of oil. Is that odd? I took the intake and the vent tubes off to install my Airaid intake.
