Crewsin84 Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 So I traded in my 2009 silverado for a brand new 2015 silverado LTZ black crew cab two weeks ago, felt pretty good about the deal. It was at the dealer last week and they did the 3m clear coat over the hood and some other places. I was having them put dvd players in the headrests when they called and told me there was a dent and scratch and it had to go to the bodyshop on their dime. Now I have to be stuck another week without my new truck and it already has had a dent in it. They are paying for it and are giving me a rental but its a brand new truck, Im pissed, Do I have any ground to stand on or has anyone dealt with this before? Thanks for reading!
LongrangeLauber Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 Dealer dented and scratched my truck, they covered the cost. I was mad but I was happy that I look my vehicles over before I remove them from the lot and always make sure my service writer is there and even happier that I didn't pay for a loaner or the gas PLUS they fixed another dent I put in personally, free of charge
Rawyzf Posted February 16, 2016 Posted February 16, 2016 It depends on how the damage happened. However, they are fixing it, so not really much you can do or ask for. Sent from Tapatalk App - Samsung S6
sams819 Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Had my 2015 dented the first day at dealer. It was new and they have been extra good to me since. I was bummed but after the repair you could not tell it had ever happened.
Trevor01 Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 Shit happens. It's getting fixed on their dime. It sucks, but it happens
GMC-AT Posted February 17, 2016 Posted February 17, 2016 My trucks seems to get some kind of chip or starch at the dealer every time. I even make it clear to never wash my truck when done ( that's just asking for more scratches) I truly hate those f#$%s
Crewsin84 Posted February 17, 2016 Author Posted February 17, 2016 Thanks for the replies everyone. Sales manager said he would take it back and give me a 2016.
hurricanoday Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 this past weekend I took my 15 Denali in to get the second oil change. There was a guy blocking the lane because he was loading up his new all terrain from his old truck (I'm sure just traded it in) I thought I could get by his new truck and a pretty bad ass new Camaro parked out front of the dealer. Well I just barely clipped his driver mirror with my passenger pushing mine in. i looked both ways like 100 times not to hit the car or truck and just nicked it. Lucky there was no damage, but I got out and apologized. Said I know I would be pissed if someone hit my new truck. I felt like an asshat but we looked it over and I offered like 5 times to give him my insurance info. He said no but thanks for being honest. Accidents happen
Tony Bianco Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 If I ever leave a vehicle with the dealer I take a video showing every panel of the vehicle. This also records mine and the service writers voice. This is helpful when I'm asking the service writer if he also sees no damage. His confirmation in recorded audio is enough to cover myself if the dealer wants to argue with me.
Doobs41378 Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Thanks for the replies everyone. Sales manager said he would take it back and give me a 2016. And you said?
Crewsin84 Posted February 18, 2016 Author Posted February 18, 2016 And you said? Decided to wait and see how the paint and body work turned out.
decee Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 Thanks for the replies everyone. Sales manager said he would take it back and give me a 2016. I hope you didn't pay list price for the truck
Ridersfan Posted February 18, 2016 Posted February 18, 2016 I run a dealership... accidents happen. All you can do is fix it. Just refuse to let it go through insurance so that a vehicle history won't reflect it, cause that can depreciate it... and that would not be fair.
