Adding 4 channel amp under dash

My truck has the MyLink, non Bose system. I notice the Kicker vehicle specific solutions taps into the factory stereo harness under the driver side dash, foot well area. I'd like to do the same thing except with a small JL Audio XD400 amp I have and do it without cutting up the factory wiring. Anyone on here done this? Anyone know the plug types?

I read somewhere (can't remember if it was this forum) that these harnesses will work. I haven't ordered them yet, but when I get them they will help installing my alpine amp.

The chime retention unit is for an experiment I want to try cause I don't want to have to rewire my speakers. I will be keeping my 8" factory radio.

_{Thanks mois93da. I see the reverse harness Metra 71-2107. I assume there then must be a version of that same plug but with a female end????}

_{Never mind, I see the green plug on the 70-2057 is the female of the green plug on the 71-2107 and the other plugs in both kits are not used.}

Ugh this post pisses me off lol. I order those 2 connectors a few months ago. The 71-2107 I ordered from installer .com because it wasn't anywhere to be found plus at 42 bucks. Now its on eBay at 12 bucks. Sob. The other one I got on eBay but installer.com took their sweet a$$ time and took 2 damn months to get here.

But I digress ...those are the 2 needed so you don't hack up the factory wiring

Bump: been a while since I messed with My truck, and I'll have more time these next couple months to modify some things I want.

Has anyone been able to use the parts I mentioned or do anything about the chime?

As far as I know the chime is in the radio. I haven't heard of any way to kill it. I have learned to live with it and buckle up before turning on the truck. The blinker isn't as annoying as the key chime.

Installed that same Alpine 445U amp coming up on 2 years ago. Best way I found to set it up is run the amp with the gain all the way down (1st line) and run the head unit volume higher just as you would if you didn't install an amp. If you try to run the amp gain high, chimes will get annoying loud and you will get distortion at lower head unit volumes. Chime is a constant level (that level is adjustable in the menu, make sure you turn it down).

You pull the head unit out. Pop off the plastic trim piece around the Screen , then the AC control panel comes out with (IIRC) 4 screws. Green male plug will be plugged into the head unit. Use the green plug from the 71-2107 wire kit to take the signal from the head unit without cutting the factory harness (gray plug in the kit isn't used). Then wire in the 70-2057 to the amp output and attach to the factory green male plug. You can splice in a set of leads before the amp to feed the LC2i. In mine the Alpine KT445U is mounted behind the glove box. After much experimenting with setting gain to a comfort level for the chime, I've settled on running amp gain on the 2nd notch (9:00 position).
