2016 Sierra Denali vs SLT all terrain

Hey Everyone. I'm new to the site but have read some very informative posts so I joined. This question may be posted somewhere else but I could only find 2013 and don't really now how to work the site from my phone yet.

Anyway what are the differences? I know the grill and aluminum trim and seats are a little different but the Denali would cost me an extra $5000 and I'm just not sure what to do and looking for some insight. Is it true that a Denali has a much higher resale value? That would make a bog difference to me. I'm going to be getting one or the other in the next few days and I'm torn. Either one will have the 6.2.

Looking forward to some awesome feedback. I'm a firs owner now so I'm new to gmc altogether

Denali will have a higher resale value but it cost more to start with. The denali is awd where the SLT is 4wd. Otherwise it come down to what you like.

Not true. Denali is also 4WD. There is no AWD option in the Sierra line of trucks any more.

Really besides all the nicer looking trim inside and out the difference buying price, resell, and magnetic ride control (fancy shocks that ride awesome!)

When you compare the two a loaded out SLT really isnt that much less then the Danali...

Not sure on that one. My loaded SLT All Terrain with discounts was still almost $5k cheaper than the Denali, just like the OP posted.

Denali has magnetic shocks and can't be leveled/lifted as easy if that's something you will want to do.

You know the physical difference and with that being said I like the Denali seats (and the standards SLT seats) better then the All Terrains. I would have gotten an All Terrain if it wasn't for the seats but that's just personal. I like the color match bumpers but got a good deal so I just got a SLT Z71 and was about maxed out on price so a Denali was out of the question. Wish I would have gotten a 6.2 but that was a huge want not need!

Just go drive them and see what you think and want you like about both. Maybe some others will have more onsite but rally the shocks are the only thing I can think of different on the Danali compared to and SLT.

They said they have levelled many Denalis and they do it right at the dealership. Do you mean it's harder to do it yourself or it affects the ride more than it does on the SLT?

SLT A-T's can't option all the same items as a standard Sierra Denali, hence why its less expensive. Yes both are is very close when optioned correclty, Denali exclusives are instrument cluster has a full size/larger screen to customize,12 way power seats, (SLT's get 10 way) mag ride, "Blu-ray" rear entertainment (Tri-mode will be available in spring 2016 for SLT's). almost every option you picked on the SLT is standard on the Sierra Denali, its highest class luxury "truck" GM offers, until you go SUV then Caddies pull away pretty damn hard, Sierra Denali's are a step above the Chevy High Country with that BS yucky brown interior. I believe only option I can't get is max tow.

I optioned chrome wheels 20's, 6.2 and rear, blu-ray, Tri-mode steps, brake controller, enhanced driver alert, & bed lighting! 62K, delivered (about 55K with my supplier discount, so 7K worth in free options, which creates positive equity.

the Ultimate Sierra Denali only has a sunroof and 22" painted & border-line cladded chrome plastic inserts wheels, chrome tow hooks, (which I don't care for any of those options, but forcing a sunroof pushed it too far for me)

You only live once, just get the damn Denali, ... its my 2nd Sierra Denali, I can't go any higher IMO, but I can wait a few model years and upgrade again.

Oh the 2016 Denali grill is the ugliest grill to date much worse in person, pulling it off as soon as I can get a better looking grill, love the new All-Terrain &/or Elevation grills, or wait for a 2017 HD Denali grill.

The Denali also gets the power step bars as well.

Honestly, the seats are the exact same design other than the covers and the fact the AT is not able to get cooled seats. I like the look of the AT over the Denali, my dealer tried to get me to take a 2015 left over Denali they had on my GM buyback and I passed. I really like the look of the AT package, this will be my 3rd AT when I pick it up later today. Cooled seats don't make that much of a difference to me, we've had them in our previous cars and it isn't like they are so cold they make a world of difference to me. Heated is nice for me, more so when my back is bothering me.

The A/T, sorry Denali guys is a better looking truck imo and not because i own one, well maybe because i own one. :D

I recently went through this decision myself. Honestly the only reason I ended up getting the Denali was they had it marked 16% off and with other discounts it ended up being cheaper than the All Terrain. In my specific case there was not a 6.2L AT to be found within 200 miles and doing a special order or going further out I couldn't get as deep of discounts on the AT.

I would say if you like the AT get the AT and save the money unless having a Denali is super important to you. The magnetic ride is an awesome feature however I can tell you from experience a lift or level is going to axes that quality for you. Also lifting the non magnetic ride models gives you more options in lift kits, is cheaper, and requires no re-calibration of sensors.

Also, cant get cooled seats in the All Terrain. I miss that from my previous vehicle.

Only highly visual difference is the grill. I'll take the more premium truck and swap the grill.

To the other guys, they are vented seats, if you run cooler A/C air the fans pass the cooler air through the seats, improving the effectiveness. In warm southern states vented seats make a huge difference, given the fact that you wear breathable clothing that allows for air to pass through.

All my GF's that were yoga pants love the seats.

I wear a leather jacket so my vented seats are less effective, come on!

Does anyone have any experience with levelling the mag ride Denali? That's my only concern I think. I'm French, so I like the grill! Lol

You can no longer get 'cooled' seats in any of them.

(14 and 15 had cooled seats available on SLT but not on AT, and it was std on Denali)
