Previous Ford and Ram owners

I had an 03 Ram Quad Cab 5.7 Hemi for nearly 12 years. Bought it new and sold it last year when I bought my 2015 Denail. I assumed I would be getting another Ram. Even went to the RAM dealership first and drove a loaded 2015. Biggest thing I couldn't get over with it was the noise. My Denali is so quiet inside. It's nice to be able to have a conversation with someone without yelling. The RAM was so loud. Yes, the 2015 was quieter than the 2003 - but not in the same league as the GM. Just my .02

I have the 8 speed in my Corvette and it does shift alot. That's a result of "8" speeds. I can only imagine what the 10 speeds will be like. If the vibration appeared after a while, I'd be looking at tires, driveshaft and u-joints.

Gone round and round in my mind between an Ecoboost 3.5l and the GM 6.2l and GM wins for me. Both have vibration complaints Fords starting from stops (shudder) and GM at highway speeds. I had the shudder issue on a few of the Fords I've owned.

Still going to swap to a GMC. Worse case, I won't like it after a while and I swap for something else.

I'd suggest you look at the cargo capacity number on the tire pressure sticker on the driver's door jamb. Ford generally has more cargo capacity because of their AL body.

Good luck on the truck. Hope the Chevy Shake isn't in your new truck.

Capacities won't pose to be a problem with what I do. Just 2 of us and most of the time when towing it'll be my 32 3 window coupe (only 2,580 lbs).

I had a 2012 f150 fx4 ecoboost, traded that for a 2014 fx4 ecoboost, traded that for my 2015 GMC Sierra all terrain. I loved the ford and I love this truck as well. If I had to pick one if say I like my GM better. The ecoboost had a bit more pep, but overall my Sierra is my favorite truck I've owned.

It is a case of personal preference when choosing between Ram, Ford or GM. Your research will find support (or bashing) for either brand. Individual tastes are different and these also change. I personally think GM's (esp. GMC) are the best looking trucks on the planet and their engine choices make the most sense!

WD is required on 1500 series on trailer weight greater than 7,000lb (according to 2014-2016 owners manuals). Without WD max tongue weight is 800lb, with WD max tongue weight is 1200lb. Careful on how you load your trailer to not overload your receiver.

A WD hitch is a no go with the V-nose but I typically keep it around 600+/- anyway. Thanks for the info!

Came from an 11 F150 with the Ecoboost.

I had no real issues with the truck for 60k miles.

Would have bought another if they had done some performance improvements in 15.

Pulled awesome.....more relaxing than pulling with my 6.2L

My current truck is not what I would call perfect.....

Tranny sucks.....clunking,weird shifts....blah blah

Vibes at highway speed,which showed up,were not there as new truck.

Like the 6.2L....gets a bit better mpg than the Ecoboost....but burns premium

Lots of power and pulls well.....revs to do it.

All in all I'm not satisfied with the Chevy and have regrets.

If the tranny wasn't the way it is and vibes weren't present then it would be a different story.

Try disabling your powertrain grade braking, long press of the tow/haul mode 3-5 seconds (you will have to do this every time you cycle the key), I notice a lot better coasting and the trans felt like the older GM 6 speeds.

Without WD max tongue weight is 800lb, with WD max tongue weight is 1200lb. Careful on how you load your trailer to not overload your receiver.

The receiver is rated to 1200 without a WDH. It's the truck (with its soft rear springs) that is limited to 800 without one. Obviously airbags or the like improve the truck's actual capability (but no, it won't edit your owner's manual) which is why I suggest them.

I have had a ton of trucks and a car in the last 4 years ( Car doesn't matter )... I have had a 2010 F150 RC WT, 2014 F150 Crew, 2013 Ram RC SB, 2014 Ram 2500 Cummins Outdoorsman ( love the cummins ), 2014 Ram 1500 Crew, 2015 Ram 1500 and now I am onto my '15 Silverado LTZ....

I loved the 09-14 F150 interiors but the trucks were expensive for all the rattles and creaks they had, but dependable. My brother works at a Ram Dealership here in town and that was kind of my reason for switching so often, discounts and rebates what not and I absolutely LOVED my Ram(s), then I decided I was going to try Chevy... when this body style came out I loved it instantly and test drove a few and finally landed with what I have. Interior wise, Chevy is ahead of the game for most trim levels, but about even with the rest on their high end models. The hardest things I have had to get use to is how completely different throttle response is compared to the Ram, granted it was the 5.7 but the way it felt like how feather soft the pedal was to make the truck move and what not. When I test drove my first Silverado I HATED it to begin with because the pedal was heavy and I felt like I had to push hard on it to make the truck finally wake up. I'm still getting use to that. My Ram had a smooth transmission too, in both the 6 speed and the 8 speed... buttery smooth and it all worked great together. The Silverado has taken a lot of getting use to with those, maybe I was just so use to it... but the transmission has been so clunky and sometimes feels like it jerks into gears etc. I'm getting use to it... In Hindsight would I go with my choice again? Yes. Ram needs a big update on the trucks, the small " facelift " for 13+ on their trucks didn't change enough... it's essentially the same truck from 2009 till now. The Silverado looks better inside and out but it's just those few issues that have taken a lot of getting use to just for me personally.

There are three good choices in American pickups. They are all good trucks. I bought a new Silverado because of the great service I got from my 07. I put 100,000 miles on it with absolutely no issues. It was a great truck and my new one is even better. Good mileage, good power, drives great, it's quiet. I know for me, I made the right choice.

I was always a dodge guy and then need a 3/4 ton to haul the travel trailer i bought.I could not find a used ram with cummins in it in my price range so i ended up with a 2005 f250.It had a 100k on it when i bought but i got it at a ford dealer.They told me it went through their 100 point inspection and the only thing that was wrong with it was 2 tie rod ends and they put new tires on it.So iahd it for about 6 months and man that dealer screwed me.lol.Had to have all new ball joints put in,new front u joints put in for the axle in front,and bunch of other crap.Cost me like 3500 dollars so that put a bad taste in my mouth for ford but i guess i should of not bought a truck with a 100k but also it went through there inspection.So i went back to dodge and leased a 2013 ram outdoorsman nice truck.My wife was driving it one day and the fricking mirror fell off it only had 1500 miles on it.lol.Those mirrors on the ram are just held in by 2 little spring metal clips and it was hanging on the side of the truck by the wires for the heated mirror and the wires for the power mirrors.lol.Get this the dealer just bent the spring steel a little and stuck it back in.Then while i was there i told them the front tires were chopping real bad.They said you need an alignment and that it was free since the truck wasn't a year old i said ok.I sat there for 1 and 1/2 hours and they said it was all set.I said ok they told me the tech could not get the alignment sensors mounted on the rims because the beads of the tires were so heavy and that i needed to take it to belle tire because they have a different alignment rack with different sensors.I told them no way am i taking a new truck to belle tire and left.Then i ended up swithching to a chevy and have had problems with it like the 4 wheel service light coming on but they finally got that fixed and also with the check engine light but overall i do like the truck.

You mean 2 good choices don't you? Chrysler is owned by Fiat which is an Italian company.

I am aware of that and I hate it but I guess Chrysler will always be American to me. I suspect it won't be Fiat long, they are sinking fast financially. Hopefully Chtysler survives
