No offense but, if you can swing a Denalli 1500 but you need to carry a heavy load you should have bought a SLT 2500 HD for the same money.

I don't care if I offend anyone but, severely over loading your truck only proves your stupidity and disregard for the safety of yourself and others you guys are losers...... I've put a few extra #'s in my truck but, if I need to haul more weight I use a trailer for god sake.

Why not just get a trailer to haul the heavy load?

Plus its even easyer to unload! I find my self using a trailer just because its closer the ground

Agree 100%. Exactly the reason I own a 6'4 x 12 NNT utility trailer

Old Coons what is the weight of the 2 4 wheelers?

I would guess 400-500 pounds each, the rack is probably another 200

That's absurdly dangerous. The front end is almost totally unloaded and if you happen to drive at night you'll be blinding everyone else on the road. This is massively irresponsible.

I drove it like this 30 miles at 10AM and took it slow. The weight distribution hitch helped lift the back a little bit. But like I said I am installing airbags.

No offense taken. It's a couple days a week , other days it's a grocery getter. Also I looked at 2500 but I just couldn't justify the duramax and wouldn't be dead caught in the anemic 6.0 GM calls hd motor.

severly over loaded ? Couple hundred pounds is severely ?

I hear ya, no I wasn't really directing the severely towards you but, others who are showing pics with half a dozen four wheelers on their bed and a 50' travel trailer hooked up.

I wouldn't push my rig a few hundred #'s over the limit a few times a week but, I can see your though process, maybe just upgrade your rear springs and shocks a bit.

I've gone over the payload rating by 500lbs several times. Drove fine, braked fine, accelerated fine. Rear suspension had plenty of travel left. Nothing broke.

had to move a load of limestone screenings (gmt400) - got a loader bucketfull in the back.

rear end dropped pretty low - onto the bumpers.

what i remember is how light the front end was - couldn't see if the wheels left the ground at times, but sure felt like it.

When I haul my stuff in the 90s with 3/4 and one ton dodge deisels and v10s, you could tag you combo 5th wheel for pretty much any weight. I hauled 33k total. Centered the tractors on the trailer drop the truck about a inch and no problems. 10-12 ply tires all around and first class vacuum over hydraulic brakes on the trailer. Those dodges were rated for 10-12k for pulling. 65 miles per hr was about it 4th gear for get 5th. Pull through the scales had the insurance no problems. The only thing that stop us was our equipment got bigger. Never had problem never had a citation, about 100k miles per year about ten years. You got to haul heavy use a trailer load it right, have good trailer brakes.
