All I'm saying is the ford got Way better mileage than my GMc did doing the same trip as well as it perform Better Off Road the G80 locking rear differential is a piece of crap I replaced lots of them at work more than any other. In the few weeks I have had my ford doing the same driving around town to work and back I averaged 14.6 liters per hundred km using manual calculations when I did the same with my GMC it was 19.1l per 100km using manual calculations. I am running the same exact tires on both vehicles toyo m55.

Simply amazing results! Everyone, please completely disregard all advertised fuel efficiency ratings by GM and Ford at 15l/100km and 16l/100km respectively for city driving and use SAKO's calculations as a frame of reference.

I guess I should have purchased a 5.0 F150 instead of my Midnight knowing now that I'm only to expect 12mpg out of it according to those "manual calculations". :bs:

My window sticker on my GMC says 9l/100km hey and 13l/100km city. I understand that I won't come near that but. My truck wasn't even in the same ballpark City averaged between 20 and 22 liters per hundred km and on the highway it was 17 to 18/100km. Or 10.69-11.79 US mpg city and 13-14 US mpg. This is the actual mileage I've averaged since owning the truck it's been terrible

You must have got the unicorn of all Ford trucks or had the worst chevy truck. As I mentioned before, I drive a Ford with the 5.0 everyday for work so I know what it can and can't do. We also have a few new chevys in our fleet as well. Both trucks handle the hills the same around here and gas mileage is about the same, about 17 mpg for the driving we do. I really like the Ford trucks with the 5.0 and would as happy to own one as I do my chevy but neither truck is better than the other as far as drivetrain goes. Looks are subjective and I prefer the styling of GM trucks.

I feel your pain with GM trucks. I have 2016 Sierra XLT. From day 1in May when cab reached 165 I would get service front camera message. If it reached a lower Interior temp i would not get a message. My dealership was amazing they reassured me that they would find the problem! They worked with GM tech and was told It was a connection problem. They had my truck for 3 weeks. I had a loaner and was updated about the problem daily. I did not want truck back until the problem was identified and fixed! Mechanic said all connections were checked and problem still existed.

Shop Forman called Oshawa Ontario GM they sent a Field Service engineer out. Within 1 day he identified the problem as a low speed data connection. It's amazing what these engineers can find with a laptop. I think we customers need to be persistent and not accept our vehicle until resolved. Best of luck with your new Ford.

Yep bad customer service drove me away from not trading it in on another GM truck. I love my new ford. No more stress related to owning that GM anymore. I've had my truck for almost a month now and I have not had one complaint about it.

I have a late (May production) 2015 LT Z 71 4 wd, crew cab, 5.3, 3.42 axle built at Flint. This is my 7th GM pickup and the best one yet. I have not had any paint or quality items. The ride and seat comfort (leather) are especially good. Power is great, I towed a 62 Impala SS on a car trailer over the Siskiyou and Sierra Mountains to the National VCCA meet with enough power to maintain the truck speed limit on all the grades. Are these troublesome trucks assembled in the US or Mexico?

My only complaints are the terrible headlights, I replaced the bulbs with LEDs and it cured the problem, and the city fuel mileage. The highway mileage is 20 to 23, but the city mileage is 13 to 14 on 89 octane fuel. Cold starts, hills and stop and go traffic will reduce the mileage. GM must figure that you wont drive in these conditions. I don't know anybody who fits this pattern.

This thread is making me laugh. Mr OP go ahead and post up some pictures of that ugly FORD that you bought and list out all the features so we can go through everything with a fine tooth comb. Heck you might convince me and I will stop by and get one of those girlie man FORD trucks this next weekend.

this is a 2016 Denali 6.2 8spd fuel mileage and this thing will knock your ford trucks little dic in the dirt. (that should get him going LOL)

I've driven both trucks offroad the ford is a better truck when u hit the dirt. That G80 rear end is garbag. I never had the 6.2 but I test drove the multiple 2016 sierra and Silverados before I bought the ford and they all drive like my pos 2014.

Just for the hell of it go test drive a 16 f150 5.0 3.73 gears and then you can get an understanding of what I mean. I have a bunch of friends that also traded in their piece of shit GM for the new Ford and they've been longtime GM then and they are still happy with the ford

This is a funny statement to me because I just got back from West Virginia where me and a co-worker were evaluating a large stand of timber. I am in my F150 company truck and he in is nearly brand new silverado company truck. We spent 3 days going up and down every goat path, busting through rhodo thickets, and winching our ways out of knee deep mud pits. At the end of the day do you know which truck fared the best? The answer is neither, they both did what every other truck we have in our fleet is expected to do and did it equally well. My ford work truck has the electronic locker which the only downside compared to the G80 is that I have to remember to turn it on/off.

Ha. Fords have the crappiest off road abilities period. I've driven enough off road to know. Add to that, it's always the Ford trucks I see stuck in the snow storms. Sorry but the 4X4 system on the Ford and their so called electronic locking diff are decades behind in technology and reliability. Try again, son.
