Explain Supplier discount

So I have a supplier discount through my work, built the truck I want and comes out to a little more than 7k off mrsp with discount and rebates. Now do I get to add the dealer discount on top of that?

Online they have it itemized with dealer discount at 3788.

Likely not. Sounds like they are both taxable rebates (applied after tax on remaining balance). Best to check though some stack some do not, you can have the salesmen/manager pull up the credits sheet in GM system and this will show which stack with which. This will also show you any you are missing ex) Loyalty, Military, Student, Monthly promotion, Online coupon etc.

I'm not talking about more rebates I'm speaking of their mark down on top of my supplier discount and rebates

I assume their markdowns are the sales discount because it has rebates listed separately

YES you get SUPPLIER PRICING PLUS all APPLICABLE REBATES

if they tell you otherwise they are lying

So dealer mark downs do not count. Those mark downs are off the msrp for not supplier or employee pricing customers. You would walk in let them know you are a supplier purchaser and ask for the invoice sheet and the price will be listed there no negotiations on that price. Then you will get all applicable rebate off that price. I will do my research first and sometimes try to negotiate a price lower that supplier or employee which I have been successful in the past before I let them know.

This is how my dealer handled it. Also with supplier the fees the dealer charges you are capped at $75. That is what it has been on the past 2 trucks I have bought.

Be careful, I believe you do waive some litigation rights when choosing the supplier discount. I'm sure others can chime in to confirm. I've found in the past that supplier discount isn't always the cheapest deal, and that you can sometimes negotiate a better deal on your own.

Supplier discount is like the Military discount. If you want to get hosed hassle free, use it. If you want to save cash and get to a realistic sales price, just take the typical 20% off.

Supplier discount is great when something is new or popular and its hard to buy for less than msrp. But with the wild-west like GM truck discounts these days you can do better just negotiating hard or buying from a no BS high volume discount dealer. I got 24% off msrp back in May on my '16 SLT and didnt have to negotiate at all, it was an advertised price.

Supplier discount depends on what your buying and on what month, I was able to get a wonderful deal b/c GM also gave Denali's an extra 1k for April (btw April Denali month for sure were 15%-20% off can't remember), I was able to get 10K off my custom ordered 2016 Denali, and I don't regret using my supplier discount, I had loads of equity in my last vehicle walked out with a new Denali loan for 30K and 1.49% APR (loan not from dealer).

However I looked for months, plan a head if ordered you might not be getting the full 7K as its applied at delivery , at this point it might be best to wait for the 2017's and order one exactly how you like it. b/c for me finding a Denali without a sunroof, but still with rear Blu-ray w/ 6.2 and power steps was impossible.

From researching and talking to others before I bought, if one is halfway decent at negotiating, you can either meet or beat the supplier/military discount. What the discount really amounts to is a time saver at the dealership. In my case, I used the military discount, then negotiated another $1000 off that price which came to about 18.5% off msrp.

Not too bad. 20-25% seems to be the norm.

You can still negotiate on top of suppliers discount. As others have mentioned the military discount is the same as suppliers pricing.when I bought my truck back in Dec 2013, the dealer gave me my military discount quote which you can easily look up on www.gmsupplierdiscount.com. I counter offered another 2,000 off on top of the rebates and the dealer accepted my offer. It came to $10K off of a sticker of $51K.
