2016 Silverado - Front Doors Holding Water

My 2016 is holding water in the bottom of both front doors. After it rains, if you open the doors, water runs out of one of the weather seals on the bottom of the door and makes a nice size puddle. The water is being trapped in the seals and isn't draining out until you open the doors. The rear doors aren't holding water. Has anybody run into this problem?

I have the same issue with my '14 LT Double doors - only the front doors. Rained really hard last night (not for long but pretty hard). This afternoon I opened the drives side front door and I bet a full cup of water poured out as soon as the door opened.

Same here every time it rains hard or I wash it all 4 doors hold water. They drip water for awhile after I open the doors. The water it coming from inside the door and coming out of the drain holes. I'm pretty sure it's due to the triple door seals holds the water inside

After a good rain shower today while at work, 4 hours later when I went to get in my truck I opened the driver's door and water came running out of the front & rear lower drain holes at the bottom of the door, not just dripping. Surprised by the amount of water that gets into the doors.

Also had the water dripping from the weather strip as well.

At least I know the drain holes are working, hopefully the rustproofing works too!

Two things here.

Did you guys oil spray the doors this causes issues with the doors ability to drain,

These doors use a double seal to keep the water out but under heavy rain "and Washing" some gets trapped between the seals.

The it comes out when you open the door.

This is an issue with the double seals but still better than letting the water in like both of my Colorado's did.

I had to use seal glue on the seals to get them to stop leaking in both trucks it was a bad design.

Another thing- Not sure what the changes are on the 2014+ models vs the GMT-900 doors, but on my 2012 crew cab, the rear passenger door exhibits the same behavior. I've found a piece of trim or weatherstripping missing at the top of the door. Not where the seal is, but rather when you have the door open and you look at the corners at the top, there is a piece of trim or seal that is supposed to go over the corner. This is where the metal actually folds back so there is a small hole at the top. This is where I've found water to be entering the door when I go thru a car wash and then when I open the door it's dripping out for a few minutes. Sure enough there was something missing at the top of the door. I put some silicone sealer to fill that hole and no more problem. Hopefully it is something as simple as that for you folks.

I had my truck rustproofed by a local Ziebart shop, used a thin coating in the inner panels, not thick enough to block the drain holes, as water does seem to drain well out of them-better than trapping it in.

Question is how is it getting into the inside of the door?

Will have to take a closer look around the top of all of the doors to see if there are any such holes or gaps which may allow water to enter.

Think window seals.

If it is the window seals, guess they don't seal all too well. :(

I have an issue with the driver's door seal on my old 1997 Ford F350 but the cause is obvious - the upper door hinge pin bushings are completely worn out and the door does not press hard enough against the seal.
