iPhone 7 / iOS 10 not pairing.

Just got the iPhone 7 and now my phone won't connect to the truck.. it works fine with Bluetooth.. But won't connect via USB? Anyone else having this problem?

I have an iPhone 6s on IOS 10 and have no problems pairing or connecting via usb, so it's probably a hardware issue. They must have changed something with usb on the iPhone 7.

Yeah it's weird. My iPhone 6 on ios10 worked just fine.

Are you using the apple oem lightning cable or an aftermarket? The aftermarket cables sometimes won't work for some reason or another.

There may be a difference in the lighting cable due to the Headphone Jack now being directed through it.

 

Defiantly try it with the cable it came with.

I will say that my iPhone 6+ was being finicky since I installed iOS 10 last week. Sometimes the CarPlay would start, sometimes I would have to unplug and replug it in. And pretty frequently I was having an issue where the phone would cut off the radio and start to play from the phone, tho nothing ever played. Just "No Artist Info" came up on the screen.

My iPhone 6 with OS10 has had no issues so far.

ios10/5s having similar issues. Prior to update I could play music through usb and have a different phone connected via BT.

 

After update, if I plug iPhone in usb, I can control the music via media player on the dash, but the audio comes out of the phone, not the truck.

 

If I unplug usb and use BT, it works fine, less the odd hiccup/skip in BT stream.....but then I can't charge the phone as it will take over audio and send it to the phone.

Rule 1, don't update to new iOS version until about a month or more after release. My android works just fine.

I'm the opposite...can't pair my iPhone 7 via Bluetooth, but can connect to CarPlay no issues.

have to use an oem apple cable... i ran into the issue.. i was using an aftermarket one off amazon... once i got the oem cable.... boom.. .carplay... although.. . it sucks... ..i dont even use it..

IOS 10 isn't working via USB on my 2013 Mylink. Music plays through my phone. Ridiculous.
