Goodbye 1500 Hello 2500HD

finally got a real truck without the stupid AFM and DI engine and real power steering , ya gas mileage will suck but to be honest my 1500 was not that great and after all the recalls and transfer case problems with the wire harness i had it .

last recall i got on the air bag was all it took , i wrote a review on my dealers page about how good they have been on servicing my 1500 but also posted how bad the truck has been and having to many problems with only 13k on it . so my sales guy calls me the next day after the post to discuss the issues and told me to come in and they will see what they can do for me ? i was shocked to get that phone call .

so after about 2hrs of dealing with him i ended up with a left over 2015 2500HD WT double cab with the same amount of years left on my existing loan and $50 more a month , i could not pass it up and so happy with the new truck ! it actually feels like a truck and not a car with a truck body .

i did lose a lot of features but i really did not use them anyway , they way they load up these now work trucks is not bad at all i don't need carpet i use it for work anyway and with an aftermarket radio I'm good to go ! have my XM back rear view camera and bluetooth plus no more onstar lady coming on every week or so telling me my vehicle is connect to limited onstar services LOL . only thing i miss is the volume on the wheel but pulling my trailers now is WAY better then with the 1500 .

Smart move! Looks identical to mine except mine is dirty from gravel roads! I always had 3/4 tons, then I got a 2013 1500. I found I was inventing new swear words over that vehicle. So I got rid of it and went back to 2500. A much more satisfied consumer now.

All my 3/4 tons I had in the 70s-90s were loaded with fuel tanks, compressors and tools boxes full of tools and road well do to the load they carried daily. When I change my duties to demos and training I went to 1/2 tons, no way I was going to drive 3/4 tons empty. Good work trucks no doubt, the way 1/2 tons ride and road conditions these days no empty 3/4 tons for me.

3/4's ride MUCH nicer today than in the 70's - 90's, but the 1500's have improved as well.

Nice!

How did you get a WT trim with those nice wheels? I have those wheels but on an LT.

they really wanted to get rid of the left over 2015 models on there lot and they asked me what would make this deal for you better , wheels , said they had a set of takeoffs they would put on it for me at no extra cost , plus they gave me the factory set with it also and a bed cover and bed rug .

Thanks guys ! I'm loving the truck ! no more 1/2 tons for me , and the ride is really not that bad compared to my 1/2 ton it's very close just feels more like a truck .

And I'm older, may have something to do with it.?

I have driven 3500's for the past 14 yrs and now drive a 16 Denali 1500 since I no longer had a need for the extra capacity. The new HD's drive great IMO given what they are designed for however they are not even close to the ride of 1500..again in my opinion, they are just different. My recent 2015 3500 SRW HD DMax drove great on the highway and I had no complaints, it was the quick trips running around town, in and out of parking lots etc..that I really notice the difference in the ride. Not a cut at all on the HD it has a purpose and does it well and I might even go back to one but it certainly won't be because it drives close to the same as a 1500 because it doesn't. (at least the 1500 Denali with Magnetic Ride Control)
