On my Titan I had an airaid and I could definitely hear/feel the gains on the 5.6, does anyone have any good suggestions on a good CAI for the 5.3 on my 2014 Silverado? Thanks.

Nice looking family.

Last year, I was thinking along the same lines, then did some research.

Ended up tossing $500 into my granddaughters education fund, as a kind of repentance/redemption thing.

I went with the Airaid MIT. It uses the stock air box. Reasonable price. Good sound. Easy install. Hope this helps

the price is silly.

look at pictures of product and wander a parts store.

I made one by accident for an 87 subaru the same...

23 bucks instead of 300.

if you want to mimic the lid removed and call it "cai",

do just that.

remove the lid. :)

The AFE cold air intake system is really nice for these trucks, they have a few different options as well. Their open box numbers are +18HP/+23 ft.torque, and outflows the factory intake by 55%

Saw a recent thread somewhere that had some tests being done on a late model Yukon on several different kinds of CAI's Not sure if they have posted the test results? I got impatient and ordered a Cold Air Induction Intake and it should be here tomorrow. I just bought it because it looks cool and I wanted a little bit of noise. Any MPG or HP gains will be icing on the cake. Not cheap but I figured I would just cut out beer and cigs for a couple of weeks and have enough saved to pay the CC bill haha.

Yes BlackBearPerformance just did dyno testing on a new Yukon with a 6.2L. They used several intakes. I think the results will be posted sometime next week after the guys get back from SEMA.

You can find the thread in the Engine subsection of the 2014+ forum.

Im patiently awaiting the results, not in much of a rush yet to purchase. Besides, I want to make the best purchase possible, even tho Im sure most of the intakes are only a few hp off each other, something you likely wouldn't notice.

Got the link to that thread?

Wondering if it's track tested too or just dyno tested.

Thanks.

I'll see which one they got the best results on, order it and do some timed real world testing, as i usually do, to see if any of these dyno gains actually translate to the road. I did this for many of my other cars and some help and some are pure marketing BS and do nothing without a tune to go along with the CAI.

In the 6.2's case however, it might be worth $300-400 just to get it to make a bit of V8 noise.

Cold Air induction intake kit installed. No pics yet as it got dark before I got completely done. Took it for a short spin and I think it sounds awesome, probably not much HP gain but I will be checking the gas mileage over the next few weeks. Will see if I can hit a constant + 25mpg
