Difference in 2017 SLT & Denali Headlights

Anyone know if 2016 LED headlight units will fit a 2015? I'd prefer to run my LED bulbs with an projector designed for them rather than halogen.

Yes, with a conversion harness from Gen5DIY.

LEDs are awesome and highly recommended. If I were in the new truck market I would make sure to check that box on the order form (yes this Denali has them and I love them) I learned this the hard way with a weak eyed 2014 Sierra SLT. The headlights were very bad for an old codger that cannot see that well at night, that is for sure.

Both of them are sort of right. 2016 SLT with the premium plus option get the LED headlights, the intellibeam is optional on those trucks where it is standard on the Denalli. I have a 2016 Sierra All Terrain crew cab with the AT plus package and mine has the LED headlights but I did not opt for the intellibeam option as I don't care to have the high beams controlled by the computer.

To be honest, with how bright these LED headlights are I rarely even use the high beams.

Early 2016 SLT production required LED's even though they were optional. (if that makes any sense, and they did include an optional charge for the lights)

I'm not sure when they stopped 'forcing' the option to be included.

For 2017's the T4L option currently says "- Included and only available with (PDT) SLT Crew Cab Premium Plus Package, (PDG) All Terrain SLT Premium Package and (STF) All Terrain X Package."

You being an old codger has nothing to do with it. The 2014-2015 headlights are just garbage. I was driving in one of the rare dark spots in my town the other night in the rain and felt like I had to navigate by memory cause the lights did absolutely nothing. There is a TSB for I think all 2014's and 2015's built before a certain date where if you complain about your headlights to the dealer they'll increase the voltage to them and re-aim them. Don't know how effective a fix it is as my truck was after that build date, but if after the fix they're still as bad as mine than I can only imagine how bad they are before my trucks build date.

There is also a class action lawsuit on the lights, might be something to look into to get enough people in it to have GM fix the issue properly. My new '17 is a HUGE upgrade compared to the '14's it makes the issue on my 14 even that much more noticeable now. I don't know how I even drove before on some roads with my '14
