Hello all I drive a 2017 Chevy Silverado in notice on very cold mornings it is hard to steer is this normal as the truck warms up it was 2 degrees this morning

Coldest I've driven in was yesterday and it was in the teens. Noticed no difference. Don't these have electric assisted steering?

I have a '14 and I notice the same thing. When it's below freezing, steering takes a little more muscle.

-4 here this morning . Mine doesn't take 2 hands but feels a little stiff I guess you could call it . But then again rolling resistance on tires and shocks ride a little stiff too for a few miles .

I got a '15 & noticed the steering was much heavier than usual this morning (9 degrees F), didn't get any message though. I am driving up to VT this afternoon hopefully don't have any issues will definitely be needing my 4WD & power steering up there lol!!

I'll definitely mention to the dealer next time I'm in for service though

Happens to mine the first mile or so. Not two-hands muscle required, but I can't spin the wheel with my palm pulling out of the driveway.

This week our overnight lows have been around -29 Celsius (-20 Fahrenheit) every morning my trucks EPS is definitely stiffer for the first few k by the time the engine starts throwing heat all goes back to normal has been the same on all 3 of my K2 trucks so I would say its a normal condition in my experience.

This morning was the first time I have driven new truck in really cold weather and mine was the same way! I actually got out to see if i had a flat or something. Steering felt very stiff and different, only drove seven miles home from work and was like that all the way? Just to let you know that your not alone.
