Well...as good as these 4x4's handle in the snow, they are no match for a downhill slope heading to a stop sign...DOH! I just bumped a guy his keep Cherokee is completely fine, but somehow I need a new bumper...geez...

I have the Z71 in my sig that had all the sensors and whatnot... I could could back stock, but since I need a new one, might as well ask what y'all recommend (being st least somewhat budget conscious). I don't need a winch or extra light bars, and again I need to get one that will hold all the parking and forward colission sensors...

Might as well upgrade a bit?

Tell me what you got and/or recommend. (Pics and prices would be awesome too!)

Thanks in advance!

only custom options would be to get an aftermarket steel bumper. Being that you need one with holes for parking sensors and such, be prepared to spend about $1200 unpainted. Assuming insurance is paying for it, I doubt they will pay for a part that isnt OEM and costs more than OEM. Unless you know the body shop and can have them order the aftermarket bumper and pay the difference in price.

Check realtruck.com they have a few options.

I think you'll have problems "upgrading" on a budget. If you are not looking to add a winch or other accessories, I personally think a new OEM bumper will be the best improvement for your truck.

I like the iron cross rs bumper but I'm not sure if they offer it for the 16-17 yet or the motion sensors are an option. You are looking at $1,000 to $2,600 for a powder coated black after market bumper (depending on brand you want) With some insurance companies you can take the cash value of the damage and replace the parts yourself.

This site has a list of some of the available bumpers for your truck.

Thanks everyone... probably not going through insurance on this one... but I guess I'll have to check out prices to see...

I know the beefier bumpers will be more... I just don't want to spend $2k+...

I have seen the RS from Iron Cross and I do like those a lot... beefier, yet not to outrageously large... I think if I can get that one it would be cool.

Without future plans for a winch or more lights, I'd probably stick with stock. Just an overall clean looking setup.

Ranch Hand....accepts parking sensors.

Thank you

X2 for Iron Cross. About $1k and you'll need new foglights w/ aftermarket bumpers.

I emailed iron cross and they responded...they said the RS is not available for my truck, but that one is (the series 40)...that one looks pretty good...any chance anyone has that on their truck and can share pics? i don't think i would get the center light bar, but i would have to get the fog lights...

You could still get a cheap LED bar if you wanted to fill that spot.

Here's the foglights shown on the bumper.

the fog lights look good...but seem a bit on the high side...do you know of another option for that spot? or do i just have to bite the bullet and try to sell my OEM factory LED fog lamps?

also, I looked back at the iron cross web site, and it appears that the bumper does come (or has the option to come with) a panel to fill that void if you do not get a light bar in the middle...

that bumper is definitely growing on me for sure...

I have a Ranch Hand on my 2015 with sensors and using factory fog lights. I found it online for $925 so the guy where I bought it matched the price. I like it because has grill gaurd also and there are A LOT of deer where I live.

I'd bite the bullet and sell the the OEM bumper/fog lights for what you can.

I looked into other options, but you run into the problem that not many people make good 3"x6" LED foglights.

You could go Rigid and dual mount two 3x3" cubes in there, but you would most likely need a bracket, and this would be more expensive than the Iron Cross ones by far.

I'd go Iron Cross fogs as long as they're street legal.

    • We have now!  2027 GMC Sierra  Early look, but I'm a GMC guy and so far I think I like the looks of the Chevy better.
    • HD at the moment, are kinda their own deal.  How LTZ sells on those vs on 1500, there is a difference.   They are merging most of the mid trims on 1500.  LT, RST and LTZ are replaced by one trim, Silverado.  LT and RST are a BIG portion of sales.    Bad naming choice aside, the new Silverado trim will offer the spread of options that those three trims offered.  So expect to see things like the tech package for example, and memory seats.  And LT Trail Boss will now just be "Trail Boss" (formerly LT Trail Boss) but will offer content spread like the new Silverado trim will.  The press photos showed the Trail Boss (formerly LT Trail Boss) has access to Super Cruise now, which on the current truck was High Country only.       Here is the Trail Boss interior.  Memory seats and Super Cruise are present.  All things the LT Trail Boss it replaces, and the RST it was based on didn't get on the current gen.  You had to go to LTZ or ZR2 for memory seats, and High Country for Super Cruise.
    • I installed a Hellwig rear sway bar on my 21 Sierra SLT, it made a huge difference on how the truck handles, no body roll, the trucks much more planted now. Not sure of the suspension differences between the 21 and 26,  if its body roll your having a sway bar will solve it.
    • So a follow up and my fix. I found in online searches the live data to look at on a scan tool to verify the fuel tank pressure sensor was working.  It showed an spec number towards the lower end of the rang, but in spec.  Then while it was running opened the gas cap and the pressure should change.  It didn't change even a tiny bit.  The data for the purge valve said it was open...never changed. So then I measured the voltages on the plug for the fuel pressure sensor and they matched what it should be.  So local car quest parts had the sensor in stock...it was a bit of a pain to remove and an even bigger one to get it to actually go back in.  It helped to unbolt the driveshaft and bungie cord away from the gas tank to give a bit more room to work. So fuel tank pressure sensor in I cleared the code, and started it up.  I went to the scan tool's live data and... Eureka! The pressure number was different and fluctuated a bit.  So took it on a short drive and pressure number varied saw the purge valve go from closed to open and back to closed.  Drove it to and from work for roughly a week plugged in the scan tool no codes.  I took it in to get tested and passed.  In my state's infinite wisdom (oops meant greed), since I pushed the test with the maximum extensions I have to take it back in by Feb '27 to 'get it back up to date', then my next test won't be until Feb '29.
    • Any grease on the stud threads of any kind?   Wheel studs should have NOTHING on them for proper torquing and so the nuts don't back off.     Are all of the mating surfaces clean?  So wheel, rotor and hub?     We've had plenty of trucks at work with that wheel, this is a first to me.  Makes me think they've got a lube tech putting anti-seize on all the wheel studs or some kind of grease, and they need to stop doing that.  To have 11 other trucks with the same exact problem.
