Looking to lease 2017 Sierra Denali

Holy cow, the MF dropped a ton this month! I want to say it was .00152 or something close to that in December. If you think a lease is the right play for you, I'd say now is the time to pull the trigger!

That is close to what I was seeing them for last year. If I drove under 15k miles a year I would have probably leased just because I like trading up without having to take the big hit in the first year.

Fair warning - I drove my old truck maybe 6-8k miles a year. This truck is so dang awesome that I already have about 15k miles on it and I have had it for only 8 months. Make sure you get enough miles in your lease otherwise you'll end up paying more in the long run.

Out of curiosity I checked with my favorite salesman at our local dealer. The Denali lease is no joke, he quoted a 15k miles per year, 36 month, 0 down, first payment due at signing, for $565 per month. He told me it is actually almost a wash to lease a Denali for 36 months or a regular SLE crew cab because the residuals on the Denali are so good.

Why does everyone say leasing then buying out the lease is such a bad deal? I'm no lease expert, but you are paying for the time you are using and then can buy it after.

I guess my question here...are there no rebates on the leased vehicles? 10k seems easy as pie these days to get off of a GM vehicle. That 65k truck is now 55k and the 69% residual is still based on the MSRP. I have leased several BMWs for my wife and the price they sell it for is usually pretty close whether purchasing or leasing. I own my Duramax...but thats because I it makes more sense from a tax perspective.

I just got a quote for a denali ultimate, 55400 6.86 68% residual interest and payment around 650 a month with around 1k down. They said my credit was around 650, so probably about the deal I can get with my bad credit. What do you guys think?

Any other questions I should ask them? Was hoping for better but bad credit is hurting.

That's a bad deal. I'm getting mine for 559 a month nothing out of pocket. Msrp is 64,395 sale price is 60,103 or something close. 39 months 12k a year 67% residual .00059 mf

That's a bad deal. I'm getting mine for 559 a month nothing out of pocket. Msrp is 64,395 sale price is 60,103 or something close. 39 months 12k a year 67% residual .00059 mf

bad deal because the dealer is getting me or bad because of my credit? I realize I'm not gonna get the best deal because of my credit score of 650. Just trying to figure out what kind of deal it is based on my score. I think we have decided to wait and get my score up..

Mind me asking what your score was?

If you don't mind me asking...

If you have had financial issues in the past why not look at a lot less expensive vehicle that you could buy & own versus "borrowing" one of the most expensive pickup trucks on the planet?

My credit score when they ran it was a 720. Just seems like a lot to be paying with a down payment. Denalis residuals are inflated so they do lease very well. I ran numbers of every 1500 across all brands and the Denali was cheaper to lease than ford, chevy, dodge, Nissan, Toyota, and even a Sierra slt. I was really looking to get a 2017 Durango because I prefer suvs over trucks and all I tow is a 5000lb boat and trailer. But with the durangos msrp being 50,000 which is 14k less than the Denali, the payment on the Durango was 624 a month with nothing out of pocket where as the 64k Denali is 559 a month because of a much better residual and money factor.

Does $559 vs. $624 per month include insurance?

I would be very surprised if it did. If insurance is $75 or $100 a month that would mean his lease payment to his finance company is only $459 or $524 a month. Seems too low IMO.
