I have it on good authority that if AFM/DOD is disabled the surging goes away completely and the 8 spd trans works normally as you'd expect. My guess is that mode has such a small operational window and add in hysteresis and you get the fish nibbling lol.

2017 Silverado 1500, 1008 miles... noticed that fuel pump runs for a second when I open drivers door, is this normal? I'm also having surging issues when under light acceleration on a hill... anyone else have this problem? My 2014 didn't do this...

You are having the same problem as me. GM has got a bulletin out but no fix as of 1/09/2017. GM is aware of the problem. Keep after the dealer for the fix. I think it's a problem in the computer programming.

It's common for bigger engines to have a low pressure pump in the tank and a high pressure pump on the engine.

What you hear is the low pressure pump.

The radio come on too he he.

A little off topic, but I see you traded your 14 for a new one. Im pondering trading my 15 for a 17....Help talk me out of it haha

I just started noticing this sound in my 15 last week. It reminds me of when I turn my harley key, you can hear the fuel injection. Not sure why it never did this over the past year and a half until last week....

My 14 was a lease, thought I was moving up to a newer, more powerful 17.... it's a lease too.... test drive for twenty miles before buying! You'll walk away!

I can't the headlights are so much better it's not even funny. Plus the 2016 had the built in brake controller, The fancy rims, Wireless charging , Carplay and Android auto.

All on top of a lower payment.

Mine does the same thing, I do know the 6.2 has a mechanical pump. It has a roller and runs off the cam. I'm working on the launch of the 6.2 in Spring Hill,Tn. And happened to notice it while delivering parts.

Ok, I've been certified as crazy by GM....already saving my money for a different make...possibly Toyota Tundra....

I'm with you. Last GM product I'll ever own due to horrible 8 speed trans and awful shaking above 70 mph . The tundras are much more reliable, but not as solidly built body wise. The doors sound tinnier or something when shut but I could deal with that if the thing shifts smooth and doesn't shake!

I have a new 2017 High Country 6.2 8 speed with the hesitation/surge. Most annoying vehicle I've ever driven. Completely unexceptable. The dealer says its normal and chevy won't help. Selling the truck and will never own another.
