Fuel pump comes on when I open door

Mine does the same thing, I do know the 6.2 has a mechanical pump. It has a roller and runs off the cam. I'm working on the launch of the 6.2 in Spring Hill,Tn. And happened to notice it while delivering parts.

The 4.3, 5.3, and 6.2 all have mechanical pumps driven by the rear of the camshaft, it puts out 2175 psi of fuel pressure.

Really? Kool. Well I'm scheduling mine next week to go in. So we'll see if I'm lucky. My truck seems like it lacks power. I drove a GMC Sierra the other day and it felt so much better that I though it was a 6.2. Popped the hood and it was a 5.3. I was like wtf! Feels way more responsive than mine

I too have had the strange sound, but mine is intermittent,(now warmer weather, happening more) and it only happens if I LOCK my doors and the truck sits over night or for several hours. On the days I have the cyclic buzz sound, my touch screen will also mess up. I might have black screens, or I will have blue screens, minus the bowtie, or it will be normal by just having mileage on dash cluster (I am not sitting in vehicle) 3x I had a door chime w/o key in ignition. Also,sometimes on days with buzz, my downhill brake assist will not work, or theft light when locked. It just spent a month at the dealership. They do not know what the "cyclic buzz" sound is, even though I told them it sounds like the fuel pump.I have recorded video of all this happening. As to the cluster, they checked all connectors according to bulletin,no issues with grounds, software current, but can't explain both and or why intermittent and connection to both. As to shutter on cold acceleration or up hill at low speed. Mine was so bad, there was times when cold I could barely get up my hill. Dealer didn't have a fix yet, no codes stored. So, I fixed it. I installed a cold air intake and removed the resonator flap before the muffler and after. I have excellent power, just a slight touch of drone on v4 @ 53mph.

Is it normal for the fuel pump to come on no matter which door I open. 2020 Sierra crewcab.

It should be part of the vehicle purchasing process to explain to buyers all the sounds that the vehicle makes when you turn it off and when you open the doors.  It would help make everyone feel better after the sale and when they get home and hear all the sounds to know it is normal and not an issue.

Mine comes on when I unlock the truck, so... probably?

That’s just wearing out the pump. No matter what door I open the pump comes one. If it’s been setting with the doors unlocked

I posted earlier questions regarding gas in oil. My 2018 Sierra fuel pump activates immediately when opening driver door so if I was to go in the truck a couple of times just to get something without starting it would the not create gas in oil…would anyone know?

Should not, it is just priming the fuel lines. Doubt if it activates after they are ready (meaning opening the door(s) multiple times).

No, the vehicle isn't running so the fuel doesn't go anywhere but to the fuel rail to build pressure so the injectors can open when called upon.  You should also notice that it doesn't run every single time if done in short order because pressure is already at the recommended setting.
